In honor of season 2 of MCD I thought I'd would share my thoughts about this Aphmau and Irene situation.
Theory #1) Aphmau is Irene, but lost all of her memories in battle. (She stayed young since she was in the Irene Dimension.) Aphmau ended up in Phoenix Drop when she escaped the Irene Dimension.
Theory #2) Irene is actually Aphmau's mother. She had Hyria wipe all of Aph's memories to help keep her safe. Irene hoped that if Jess' memories of her were gone no one would suspect her to have a relationship with her and therefore keep her out of danger. (This was before the battle happened since Irene knew Aph would be in danger because of her)

Theory #3) Aaron is not dead. When he "killed" Zane and himself he actually sent them into another dimension similar to Irene's. If Irene had her own dimension who's to say the other Divine Warriors didn't?
