Human Experience (First kiss)

Kaneki's POV:

It's been a few months since I had the accident. The one that turned my world upside down. Each day I've been getting use to being a ghoul, though it still hurts that I'll never be the person I once was again. My friends at Anteiku make it easier, if it wasn't for them I don't think I'd have managed to cope with this.. well them and Hide. I stay alive for Hide, he's all I have and I couldn't bare to leave him. It hurts that I can't tell him the truth but if he knew he'd be put at risk and I don't want that. Anyway, that doesn't matter now, the point is Hide has been trying to get me to ask Touka on a date. I know right? dangerous.. she could snap me in two, if only he knew better. But the thing is, I'm starting to fall for her "Kaneki..." and I don't know if I should just go for it or "Kaneki?!..." I mean what do I have to lo-.. "Kaneki!!" my thoughts are interrupted as Hide shouts at me from across the table, his goofy smile across his lips and he's looking at me as if I'm an idiot "You need to stop staring, she'll think you're a perv dude" he said. I groan and peel my eyes away to look at him "I can't help it, she's just.. perfect". Hide rolls his eyes at me and mocks me "She's just perfect, blah blah blah" he smirked "Then why don't you get the hell over there and ask her on a date!" he practically yelled it. I moved my hand and put it to his mouth "Shut.. the hell up, if she hears you I'm dead" I whisper to him. Glancing to the counter, my heart drops. She's staring right at me crap, here we go.

Touka's POV:

Seriously? could that nerd get anymore idiotic. I roll my eyes at his pathetic look on his face, he looks like he's about to pass out. I give him a look to say 'Yes. I. Heard. Everything' before smirking a little and walking over to their table "So.." I look to Hide, straight in the eyes "What's this about a date eh?". It's hilarious seeing Kaneki get all flustered from the corner of my eye and his weak ass attempts to try get Hide to keep his mouth shut. Hide grinned at me and laughed nervously "Ooohh nothing" he stood up "I think I'll leave that for Kaneki to talk to you about" he winked at him and quickly exited, leaving a hot mess Kaneki looking like a fish out of water. I look to him and take a seat across from him "So Kaneki, man up and tell me what this is all about". After a few sharp breaths, he calms down and looks at me "T-to..T-touka-chan..". I roll my eyes and smirk "Yes Kaneki?". He swallows hard "Touka-chan... w-will you go on a d-date with me?". I stand up and walk over to him, gripping him by the hair and leaning in down next to his ear "I don't see why I should, but fine" I'll give him one chance, it's time to see how he can do. Besides, I've had feelings for him for the past month now but I'd never admit that to him. "Now.. that wasn't so hard was it?" I move back up and let go of his hair, his head went flying down and he smacked his face against the table. I laugh as I head through the back, Kaneki-Kun when will you ever learn there's no need to get so panicked.

Date day - Kaneki's POV

I have arrived to Touka's apartment, I'm wearing a black shirt and pants to match with my blue jacket over it. I've been here for around five minutes just pacing up and down the hallway as my heart thumps hard in my chest like a base drum. I take a deep breath and exhale 'Come on Kaneki... Calm down' I repeat to myself in my head over and over until I am finally calm. Walking up to the door I hold my fist up ready to knock, as Touka isn't the typical girl to want fussed over or have flowers I decided to get her black roses.. I had to make at least a small effort that way. Grasping them tight in my hand, I knock on the door three times. The door opened within a matter of minutes and Touka was standing there, dressed in a pair of black skinnies, a ripped burgundy top and her black boots. A smile crept across my face "Wow Touka.. y-you look... cu-" she shot me a glare "You look amazing" my heart almost burst from my chest. She gave me a small smile "Thank you Kaneki, you don't look too bad yourself". I grin and hold the roses out to her "These are for you". She looked to the them at first with an uninterested look but then she smirked and took them "Kaneki they are beautiful" she kissed my cheek "Thank you, I'll be right out, just going to put these in some water" she then closed the door and I was left standing in the hallway blushing deeply from the kiss. I lean against the wall and sigh happily "So far, so good" I mutter under my breath.
