Skye's POV
'What's wrong with you?' I asked, leaning against the cold brick wall.
'Nothing's wrong with me' Ash replied, sullenly.
'Then why are you like' I paused 'this...?' I lit a cigarette which Ash glanced at disapprovingly.
'You wouldn't understand' he said, looking away 'and don't smoke.'
'It's called an addiction, health freak' I replied
'Fair enough... die young whatever, I don't care.'
'Jasmine' I said.
'What about her?' he asked.
'That's what you're depressed about or whatever' I sighed 'come on mate, there's more fish in the sea.... like tons and there falling all over you.'
'It's not that easy Skye' he murmured 'you don't' understand.'
'Maybe I just don't have ovaries' I grinned.
'Jesus Skye, when have you ever felt anything for a girl which has been coming from your heart and not your-'
'Hey' I said lightly 'I'm not a robot.'
'Sure your not, you're just the biggest player the world's ever seen.'
'Didn't you get what you wanted though? I mean, you did sleep with her.'
Ash sighed 'honestly, that wasn't what I wanted.'
'It was just a bonus.'
'I love her Skye, you must understand... you've got to have loved someone at some point in your life, I dunno when you were a kid?'
I checked my memory 'nope, never. Loves an illusion for girls and homos.' I flicked my cigarette butt onto the field, glancing at a couple of sophomores in mini skirts crossing the field and trying to calculate the amount of time it would take to 'seduce' them.
'What about Natasha, I'm going to assume you don't even have a crush on her... just about sex right?'
'Completely' I lied.
'You know what?'
'I can't even begin to imagine' I replied.
'I think Blake was good for you, even if you did your hardest to fuck it up.'
'How many times Ash' I demanded, with controlled anger 'Blake was the worst thing that ever happened to me, and you're an idiot to think any differently.'
'Oh come on' he grinned, happy he'd hit a nerve.
'I've never been in love, and I never will be in love because I'm not that pathetic' my mind was forced back to sitting against a door with Blake the other side. I had felt like shit, the worst possible person because aafter all she's said, and been through I'd just made things worse.
-'Do you even love me?' -
I had nothing to say.
I smiled. I would never love Blake, I would never love anyone no matter what.
Blake's POV
'Hey Blake, long time no see' Natalie smiled poisonously.
'Yeah, lets keep it that way shall we?' I turned away.
'Hey. Wait up.'
I groaned 'please go away Natalie, you've ruined enough haven't you?'
'I've only just started' she replied 'oh come on Blakey, it can't have been that bad.'
'I don't think I've actually hated anyone as much as I hate you' I replied 'and that really is saying something.'
'Fine, I'm sorry for sleeping with Skye' she was smiling, only really trying to rub it in.
'Go tell it to someone who cares.'
'YOU care, I wouldn't have done it if I wasn't completely sure that you were in love with him and it would hurt you' she replied, her voice was too innocent for what she was telling me though. Oh God, I wanted to hit her.
'You're a manipulative bitch' I hissed.
'Name calling isn't going to solve anything' she said.
I turned round, staring square at her with what I hoped was a menacing look on my face. Granted, she was about a head taller than me, but I stared right back into her eyes, challenging.
'What have I actually done Natalie? Ruined your chance at popularity. Fucking boo hoo, why don't' you try finding something else to set your shallow, annoying life on.'
'Why are you so pissy?' she asked, then looked behind me and smiled 'I see' she said quietly.
I didn't turn round, I knew what was behind me though but I wouldn't let her have the pleasure of seeing how much it upset me.
'Please Natalie, just leave me alone' I said.
'Fine. See you around.'
Pleas don't, I thought. Then turned around to see Dino and Nerina hand in hand, chatting animatedly. I smiled weakly at them, before pushing past them and out the main doors. I stuffed my hands into my jacket pocket against the bitter cold outside which seemed to have sprung up from nowhere... back at mum's it was pretty warm, I had taken my brother and sister out for numerous walks in the half sunshine. Hear, everything was icy.
I heard talking and I glanced up, seeing two figures I'd rather not walking past. They didn't notice me at first, with my new hair who did? But then Skye hot a look in my direction and his face lit up with recognition. Instantly I smiled looking away from him so he would think that everything was perfect. That not even he could instantly darken my day, a skill I knew he was so proud of.
