Fallen trees surround me, the Earth is in ruins and I stand at the centre of it. Overgrown greenery climbs up towering buildings and the city is in ruins. Plants and rubble flood the streets, society has fallen. I look up and can see the beauty in this world. The sun shimmers through the floral green leaves, casting speckles onto the ground. Through the the towering tree tops,I can see the dilapidated buildings. This world is full of wonder.

The remarkable scenery continues as I walk through the decaying city. Abandoned cars lie in the streets coated in rust. I push my way through the tall grass. This alluring place is filled with so much beauty. Flowers bursting from every crack, vines intertwining through each building. A place so sad, yet magnificent. I jump from rock to rock, even something so simple, now covered in beautiful fluorescent green moss. This world is something else, something special.

Suddenly, I hear the rustling of the grass. I look up and am greeted by a stag. I raise my arm, extending my hand to him. It steps forward and cautiously places its nose against my palm. It knows I mean no harm; it knows I'm a friend. His white speckles are more faded than usual, as if rain had slowly washed them away. It walks with such elegance. I continue on my path as the stag continues on his. He knows this is the last time we will meet. I walk along, the streets that millions once walked along, now deserted, with only me walking the beaten path. I walk out of the city's gates. Goodbye. The greens fading to browns as I am lead to a desert. My journey continues as I stagger up a hill. Night begins to fall, with orange and pink taking over the sky. As I reach the top of the hill I turn and look back at the magnificent forgotten city. The green city amongst the brown sand. Nature had taken over.

The sky darkens and the stars brighten. I feel something drop on my head. Water. Rain suddenly pours down. I quickly grab my bottle and hold it out. The sound of the water hitting the metal bottle and the smell of the rain is so pleasing. Just what I needed. This world, my world. Its beauty will forever be remembered. I walk out today never to return.
