Midnight Roses

(Lucy's POV)

I placed my pen down at stood up from my chair. At quiet moments like these, it would be a good idea to work on my novel so I took this rare chance. Usually Natsu would barge in here and disturb me or try to see what I was writing. I already promised Levy that she would be the first person to read it. Gathering all of my papers, I opened my desk drawers and put them away. I glanced at my clock. "Hmmm it's 10:10 p.m right now. I guess I could watch that movie Levy lent me yesterday," I thought out loud. It was called "The Ring."

It sounded like a cute romance movie. The title gave away the whole story plot though. Someone is obviously going to propose to the one they love. It sounded cliché, but there was nothing else to do. I walked around, trying to look for the movie. "Levy' going to kill me if I lose her movie!!" I yelled aloud. I say the corner of a DVD under my dresser. That must've been it! Luckily, it was. "Why is here some creepy girl in the cover?" I asked myself. "Whatever. You can't judge a book by its cover."

I put the movie on and went to make some popcorn. I hated having to sit through all of the commercials before the movie. A sudden high pitched scream rang through the apartment. A ran out of my kitchen. Someone could've been in trouble! I sighed in relief. It was just a commercial. That was odd. Why is a romance movie advertising a horror movie? *beep!* "My popcorn's done!"

Having prepared everything, I sat down on my couch with my warm blue blanket. The movie was about to start.

*2 hours later*

I sat there with horror written all over my face. I hated scary movies!! They were always my least favorite! I couldn't move. I couldn't say anything. I was frozen. The moment I saw that creepy girl on the cover, I knew there was something wrong. Next time I watch a movie, IM JUDGING IT BY ITS COVER!

The room started to get darker. Why? I mustered all of my strength, and turned my head. There was something looking through the window. "AAAAAGGGHHHH!!!!!" I can't die yet. I didn't want to die yet. I never finished my novel! I want to spend more time with my friends! I'll miss everyone. Small streams of tears trailed down my face. "I don't want to die," I whispered.

The window started opening. Something was stepping in. This was the end.

"Hey Lucy!" The creature greeted. No way. "Why are you crying? I even left Happy home so he wouldn't annoy you." Yep. It was Natsu. That salmon colored hair was unforgettable. I let out a sigh of relief.

Natsu walked torwards me. "Hey. What's wrong?" He asked. This was too embarrassing to say. I merely shook my head. "You have to tell me Lucy. Otherwise I can't beat up the guy that made you cry. I'll make sure he never comes near you again." Rage and concern were evident in his voice. I chuckled a bit. That surprised him a little.

"So are you going to stay away from me from now on?" I asked him. "Huh? Are you deaf Lucy?"

"You said you were going to make sure that the guy who made me cry spencer come near me ever again."

"Yeah but what does that have to do with me?... Besides the fact that I'm going to beat him up."

"I guess I could tell you. You made me cry."

"What?! I'm sorry for whatever I did to you! Even though I'm pretty sure I didn't do anything..."

"I was just watching a horror movie and then you climbed in from my window. I thought you were going to kill me."

"I would never! No matter how annoying you may be sometimes, I would never kill you!"

His words made me feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside. I couldn't help but smile. "I'll never forget the day we met."

"Speaking of forgetting, you forgot something today!!"

I looked up at him. "I'm pretty sure I didn't forget anything today."

Natsu pulled out some beautiful red roses. My eyes widened. No way. I couldn't have forgotten about today!

"Happy Valentine's day." He flashed his signature grin and gave the roses to me. The moment I grabbed them, the clock chimed. It was 12:00.

I paused for a moment then smiled while looking at the roses.

"Just in time."
