I love you.
I thought Id never say those words, but they came out of my mouth. Tyler was my soulmate, and I could feel it in my heart.
"I love you too.", he responded. His soft spoken words echoed through the halls of the school. It was the last day of school, and everyone was already in class. They were getting ready for 10th grade finals. But this was my moment, not my teachers or someone in my schools. All mine, and of course Tyler too.
My name is Kate Rose. But people call me cat. I know what you're thinking, how did she get a name like that? Funny story actually. It all started on the first day of school.
My teacher says she's really bad with names. I didn't know it was that bad. She probably blankly saw KATE ROSE. However, she said, "CAT ROSS?" Everyone looked around, even me. I didn't know it was me she was calling. It sounded nothing like my name. But, I asked, "Do you mean KATE ROSE?" It stuck on from that moment.
"ERRHMMM.", said Principal Mendrone. I look up at him.
"Oh hey Mr.Mendrone. Wassup!", though I could tell I wasn't making things better.
He just rolls his eyes and says, "Just get to class Rose. You too Jones."
After that he turns to his office, probably to play Mario Kart.
"Talk about buzzkill." Tyler laughs
"Yep. Anyway Ill see you later babe. Good luck!"
"You too!", he yells as he runs down the hall.
What seems like forever, I finally finish. I cant wait to go to the amusement park with Caty, Julia, Yasmin, and Maya. Tyler and his friends are tagging along too.
I turn to Maya. "Hey 11th grader!!!"
"Right back at you", she gives a quick giggle, then makes her 'I have a somewhat crazy but brilliant plan face.' I know what's coming.
"No Maya! We are not going to sneak into the shed after the park closes. You know what I told you, there may be security guards."
"UUUGGGHHH!!! You suck all the fun out of everything Cat. Come on, it'll be fun. Trust me."
"And how do you know?", I say as I scrunch up my face like our teacher, Mrs. Loyd did.
Maya rolls her eyes, but overall just ignores me."I did it last summer. Remember that night you invited me for coffee and I declined and said I was sick with Ebola."
"It was not likely, but I let it slip."
"Well I was at the park with Julia and Yasmin. We had so much fun. We were on the Dragon Fire ride for what seems like hours. Which it was, but that's not the point. Look Cat, You're not getting any younger. You need to do something to get your blood pumping. Something you'll remember until you die. And that memory will be with your best friends, and your future husband." She giggles once more, the thought of Tyler and me going down to the alter cracks her up so much.
"I'm done with you." I say as I pack my books up in my bag. As I'm turning, something latches onto my leg.
"AH! What are you doing Maya?!?!"
"Pleeaassee, everyone's going and I don't want you to be lonely on your first day of summer."
"No I'm not going OK?! Anyways, Tyler would stay home with me."
I feel him embrace me by the neck. I looked up to kiss him. "Right babe?" I expected him to say yes. But he doesn't. Instead he says "Sorry babe, but I want to go with them. Will you come with us?" Everyone is looking at me wide-eyed. I can't bare their stares.
