There once was a story of an unpopular girl who would wish to be with the one popular quarterback but knew it wouldn't and couldn't be possible, that is until one magical day arrived.
It was a bright and sunny day in Norwalk, IA. Birds were chirping, leaves falling, and gust of fresh air blowing from tree to tree. It had been one of the most beautiful days' one could imagine. Not too cold, not too hot, but just right. Jessica was in a hurry as usual.... She ran from room to room searching for her homework papers. She couldn't find them until last minute when she checked her hair in the mirror. They were inches from the sink and were close to getting ruined from when her younger brothers were in the bathroom earlier that morning. She grabbed the papers, shoved them each in her backpack. She ran out the door and yelled, "Love you, Dad!"
"Love you too!", he replied. It was 7:23 and school starts at 7:30 and she lives 5 blocks away. How can she manage making it to school on time? She thought of strategies while she ran but none of them were good enough, especially based on how much time she had left. So she just ran. Ran as fast as she could, and while she was running, she had a flash of either the future or the past. She didn't know, so she squeezed her eyes tight and hoped it wasn't going to happen again.
Jessica finally made it to school with exactly one minute to spare. It was 7:29. She grabbed her homework papers, then shoved her backpack in the locker, slammed it, then ran to her first period class.
It was English. Jessica steeped through the doorway just as the late bell rang. Everyone was in their seats and staring at Jessica. She walked past everyone towards the back and sat down in her seat.
Ms. Snow was tapping her foot while standing in front of the chalkboard.
"Have a reason for being late?", Ms. Snow said in an angry tone.
"Technically, I wasn't late. I was at home searching....", Ms. Snow interrupted.
"I don't want to hear it!", she exclaimed.
" Yes ma'am....", Jessica answered.
"Now today class, we are going to write a narrative. You can base it on any exciting or important topic. It's is due on September 25th, and today is September 11th, so that gives you exactly two weeks."
Jessica couldn't decide what she wanted to write her narrative about, so for most of the class period, she just sat quietly as everyone talked and started on their narratives. Once Jessica finally looked up, she saw that it was nearly time to go. So she picked up her stuff and once the bell rang, she started to head to her second period class.
In the hallway, walking towards her locker, she ran into Evan, the quarterback. That's part one of chapter one.....
