I look at the woman behind the desk who is typing something into her computer. "Excuse me?" I say trying not to sound too harsh. She looks up from her computer with a not so nice look on her face. "Yes may I help you?" she does not sound too happy. "I need to register for this semester please". "aha you must be American" She says with a raised brow. "Yes I have just moved here as my mom has been offered a job here". "okay well we call them 'terms' here". "ah yes sorry I forgot". " Right"" she must be having a bad day.

After I have registered she told me to go to my first period English Class which is in room 28. Where on earth is room 28. I start to wander the halls praying that somebody can see I'm lost. But no they just go about their day while I'm stuck here roaming the halls.

I see a woman who looks to be old enough to be a teacher. " Hi I'm Alana I'm new and I'm Trying to find room 28". Geez did I have to say I'm so many times! "Oh well that's funny I am teaching in room 28 you are the new girl from America right?". "Yes". "Well darling let me take you there, come with me.

She leads me to room 28. The class is not full thank god so I have time to find myself a desired seat a wait for the others to enter. England classrooms are a lot different to American ones.

My old classrooms at Brooklyn High were colourful and the seats were individual but close enough to talk with friends. and some of my teachers let us have free time a lot it was perfect. But looking around 'this' classroom its bland the walls are a dull white colour and the desks are in rows and they are not separated, there are no pictures or paintings on the walls and the blackboard looks like it's a 100 years old! This place is not going to be fun. Other student start entering the class now their already looks to be a seating plan I hope this seat was a good choice.

"ahm" I hear a voice from behind me and somebody tapping their shoe on the floor. I turn around to see a very tall boy standing behind me. "Out of the way stupid girl you're in my seat" I get up "I'm sorry I didn't know" The boy looks at me like I have found Lincoln's gold "ohhhh American that makes sense" I can't even believe it "Excuse me what's that supposed to mean!" He takes 'his' seat and doesn't respond. This guy needs to watch out, in my head I imagine myself pushing him off the seat and talking him down my thoughts are interrupted by a girl tapping my shoulder I turn around "Hi my name is Lizzy theirs a spare seat next to me at the front if you want" I hate sitting at the front but this poor girl looks like she has no friends and at least she is nice so I accept her offer. "sure thanks".

I am sat towards the end with her on my left side and an empty chair nearest to the window on my right. It sure would be nice to sit by the window I turn to her and say " Hey do you want to move down a seat so we are nearer to the window?

She looks at me with a shocked look on her face "Oh no we can't Callum Wood sits there and he likes it there" "Oh ok" She seems pretty protective of his seat. The teacher who lead me here is now standing at the front of the classroom suddenly everybody in the class stands up,

"what, is the queen here" I say rather to loudly everyone in the class laughs at me even the teacher my face is clearly burning red now "Oh no darling that's what we do here whenever a teacher comes into the room or stands up in front of the classroom we all stand up, it shows respect" the teacher points out. "Oh imp sorry" I stand up and the teacher gives me an apologetic smile. "you may all be seated I sit down including the rest of the class and the teacher who introduces herself as Miss Andrews probably just for me it is the second semester I mean term.

About 10 minutes into miss Andrews talk on why it's important to study a boy walks into the classroom "sorry I'm late Miss a I was at the hospital" he walks towards the seat next to me, this must be Cullum Wood,

"Oh don't apologise Callum darling I understand" she turns to write something on the blackboard as he sits down beside me he mutters something about you are understand under his breath as he gets his stuff out. On my left side Lizzy can't take her eyes of him Neither can the rest of the girls in the class. Geez what's so great about Callum Wood?

Callum's point of view:
I heard things crashing everywhere, my dad's home. He stumbles into my room. "Get out of bed moron!" I hated this guy he was my enemy he took away my mother! I stormed passed him and got ready for school. Once I was ready I headed out the door. Most kids got driven or took the bus to school if they lived 30 minutes away abut no I walked and that took me an hour which meant I had to leave an hour early! Suddenly phone starts going off "hello?" I say "Good morning Mr Wood this is the children's ward calling Ebony is calling for you!" "I'm on my way" I started running to the local hospital Ebony was my little sister and she was very, very ill.

When I arrived at the children's ward I see Ebony in her bed "Cal?"
I rush over to her "Yes Ebi it's me are you ok" She shakes her head "I feel so sick I can't do this!" she winces as the pain takes over her body, I hate my dad. This was all my dad's fault when my mum was pregnant with her my dad made her do things a pregnant woman shouldn't do which resulted in Ebony being born with several problems! The doctor finally arrives "Mr wood you should go now" I kissed Ebony goodbye and then left to go to school.

I walked into school and classes were occurring right now I had English so I headed to miss Andrews Class. As I walked in the classroom as usual all they girls stated drooling over me. "sorry I'm late Miss a I was at the hospital" I say as I walked to my desk "Oh don't apologise Callum darling I understand" All the teachers that I had knew about Ebony and they were all so nice but very fake. "You all understand" I mutter under my breath" I sit down in my seat and the girls continue to drool except for the girl beside me. I have never seen her before she must be new.

As I head home that day I can't get that girl off my mind, why wasn't she drooling over me? Did she think that there was something wrong with me?
