Chapter 4

[Jean's POV]

It's been a day since I dared Eren to get a date. He refused, which just made it easier for me. Well, Eren and Mikasa are a match made in Heaven, and Mikasa seems to like Eren, so it's kinda impossible for me. But I should just give it a shot! ...Right?
I'm in the same class as Mikasa, I just sit far from her. It was lunch time, and I just finished half of my milk (see what i did there?). I got up from my seat and went to Mikasa's. She was talking to Sasha. I looked to the left, making sure nobody was there, only to have eye contact with Annie's killer stare. They say that Annie is one of the bullies, and she's extremely strong. I've ever seen her in a fight, and I admit, her skills are amazing. She's lazy and doesn't go to class a lot, but despite it, she's actually the smartest in class.
Anyways, I walked over to Mikasa's place and avoided eye contact with pretty much everyone in the room. "Hey Mikasa." I said, taking a seat next to her. Before I could even sit, i felt an eraser and a ketchup bottle thrown at me. I looked back and found Sasha, munching a Yakisoba bun furiously. "Hey horsie! What business do you have with my bread friend forever?!" She shouted at me, pointing me with her Yakisoba bun. I sighed, why does everyone call me that?! "What's so wrong with being a horse anyways..." I whispered under my breath, rubbing my head. "Sasha, it's alright." Mikasa said from behind me, picking the eraser and ketchup bottle, giving it back to Sasha. Damn, even just feeling her presence is already a blessing straight from Heaven. "He won't do anything weird to me, right?" She said and looked at me. Her beautiful black hair flipped, and she looked extremely gorgeous. I blushed. Then I realized that she was expecting an answer from me."R-right!" I said nervously. Sasha glared at me and finally said "Fine." She walked away. Just as if she was the Flash, she reappeared in front of me and whispered, "I'll be watching you..." And just like that, she disappeared.
"Sometimes, I can't believe that she's still human." Mikasa giggled and helped me up. If I were a fangirl, I would've been screaming already. The goddess herself is helping me up, I whisper to myself. "What do you want?" She asked me. My heart started racing. And I had an argument in my head...
Calm down Jean, it's just a normal conversation...
BUT JEAN, I'M TALKING WITH A GODDESS!
Shut up Jean, it'll be alright!
JEAN ARE YOU CRAZY? ONE WRONG WORD AND YOU'RE IN HELL!
"Hello?" Mikasa snapped me out of my thoughts. "Ah, um... I was err... I just wanted to talk to you, eheheh..." Way to go, idiot, I said in my head. "Oh." She simply responded. Sina-Rose-Maria, even the simplest words sound like the harmony of thousands of angels. "Anyways... H-have you studied for exams?" I finally gathered up my courage to ask. "Yes." She replied and looked away. Her hair seems so shiny and soft, if only I could just braid it... Wait, Mikasa would look amazing in a braid! Ah whatever, she looks amazing either way. "When do you study anyways?" I asked. "Usually halfway through a topic. Don't really have anything else to do so..." She replied, nuzzling her scarf. "Oh." was the only word I could reply. That was one of the most awkward conversations in my life. "Well... I'll be going now..." I say. Deep down inside, I was hoping Mikasa would stop me and want me to be with her. "Bye." She replied. I swear I could hear the sound of my heart breaking. Before I went back to my seat, I said to her, "Hey! What about we study together? I don't really have any friends so..." "Sure. My room at 8?" She asked back. Everyone in the room looked at us. "My my, Jean. What do we have here?" Reiner teased. "What the hell?" I complained. "We all know you're dating~" He said with the softest, sweetest and kindest voice. "And by 'we', who do you mean? Aren't you just a lonely Pringle?" Sasha teased back, earning giggles from the others and glares from Annie and Bertholdt. "Potato girl, you better shut up or else I'll stick that ketchup bottle up your ass." Reiner growled, grabbing Sasha by the collar. "Oi mate, let go!" I shouted, pulling Sasha away. Reiner pushed me, making me hit my head to the ground. My head hurt so bad. Suddenly, Mikasa walked to Reiner and pushed him against a wall. "We're just going to study, shut up." She said with the coldest voice that sent me chills. I guess that "creepy ass voice" is an Ackerman thing, since Levi, her brother, is also like that. Reiner managed to slip under Mikasa's arms and run away. "You okay?" She said, lending a hand. I got up, still rubbing my head. "I'm okay, just a bit dizzy." I said, trying to smile. "Oh. Okay." She replied, pressing the back of her hand against my forehead. Warm... I thought to myself. "Mikasa, I'm not sick..." I said softly. "Mhm." She hummed. She pulled her hand away and turned her back. "My room's 841 if you're wondering. It's pretty hard to find, so here's my number if you need anything." She handed a small paper with a writing,

I was so happy. I was glad that she forgot I was roommates with Armin. I happily accepted the card. "Also, my brother will help us." She added. The word "brother" haunted my mind. Levi Ackerman is the most popular guy in this hellhole. But don't even think he's friendly, he's mean, cold, and pretty much everything but friendly. I don't know why girls have a thing for cold boys like these. Girls are just weird. Except for goddess Mikasa, of course. "By the way, what will we be studying?" I asked. "Just bring your books." She quietly responded. She walked away and I went back to my seat.
