The Missing Wolf : A winter wolf

Chapter 1: Missing Ledgend.

Heavy knocks came on my front door. Charlie was out at work so it was just me in the house. I ran to the door not tripping at all. I've been getting more and more agile hanging around the pack. They're kind of healing me after the Cullens left. I may be a wolf girl now like Emily but I refuse to call them leeches. And Alice, Jasper and Edwards powers are not going to be said. The pack still have no idea. And that's how it's going to stay.

I pulled open my door and standing there was, Jared, Paul, Quil, Jacob and Leah. They smiled widely at me and I smiled back.
"Hiya! Come on in!" They all headed straight to Charlie's cramped living room Leah saved a place for me standing next to her. Me and Leah have become basically what I thought me and Alice were. Leah's the best. Now she's got me as a best friend she's stopped being a grouchy guts and smiles all the time. "Paul. Do not break anything this time. Okay?" He scoffed and we all laughed.

"Don't worry, Sam says if he breaks anything they have a big punishment coming his way." Jacob informed me. Paul crossed his arms over his chest and started mumbling probably curse words but I couldn't make them out. Sam has become yet another father to me but recently he's started to look at me a little funny. Like he did to Jacob when he joined the pack. It worries me a little bit. I'm just going to ignore them until Sam tells me what's going on.

"So what's going on with you guys? And gals?" I corrected myself as Leah threw her arms around my shoulders. She defiantly seemed happy today.

"A new stupid Legend that Billy's friend told us. About a winter wolf. Trust me Bella, you don't want to know." Quil said after he got a glare from Jacob. Thanks Jacob...ill be sure to throw a hammer at you later.

"Okay, what do you want to do today?" I asked them. They looked at each other uncertain.

"Wanna come down to La Push? Seth has been dying to see you." Leah informed me. Why has Seth been so excited to see me lately? He can't have imprinted on me because I had Edward as a mate. Who left me in the woods to rot and die, but I guess it would be cool to see Emily, Seth, Sam and Embry with Kimmy. Yes Embry imprinted on this girl called Kimmy she was quite small her hair was a long ginger and her eyes were a deep hazel. She doesn't like Leah at all but she loves me.

"Sure, but you know I've got to work? I'll come by later." Quil and Paul shared concerned glances. "Okay what was that? The glance thing. Why are you so worried?" Jacob glared at them

"Well done." He almost shouted but stayed sitting down. No one else seemed to notice.

"What have they done? Why on earth did you say Well Done, Jacob?" They all looked at me in shock.

"How could you hear that?" Jacob stood up and looked me straight in the eyes. His eyes held wonder, amazement and awe in them. I don't get it...

"What do you mean? You nearly shouted it." He laughed a little before going back to the 'oh my god' look.

"Bella, that was a whisper. I did it so low even the bloodsuckers couldn't have heard that..." Jacobs face lit up and looked straight at Jared, Paul and Quil. "The legend..." They gasped, eyes opened wide and mouth making 'O's. I found the sight a little funny. "Come on. Bella, ride with me?" I'm going to end up missing work but yeah yeah. Wolves are more exciting. We ran outside when the others phased and I was on Jacobs back, riding like I was on a horse gripping onto his fur which he didn't mind. I was a little scared. What's wrong with the legend? What's wrong with ME?! Somethings seriously wrong...

'SAM!'...I heard Jacob shout. Hold on...he's a wolf...he can't shout...how am I hearing him...?

'What's wrong Jacob?'...Sam phased an ran to meet us. He saw me and ran back to change and phase again. I climbed off of Jacob so he could do the same.

"It's Bella," Jacob said emerging from the trees again. "I whispered something so quiet not even a leech could hear it. Bella heard it like I shouted it." Sam's eyes smashed open wide.

"Guys..." Leah was next to me hand on my forehead. I must be sick because I'm trembling making my eye sight blur badly. I was boiling hot but not sweating. I was so confused that turned into frustration and finally anger. "She's running at our temperature..." Everyone around me smiled so happy like they just got everything they wanted at Christmas. Why are they so happy?! I'm shaking like mad! I'm boiling hot and they are smiling! SMILING! I just want to--ARGH!

Before I know it I've leaped onto the air and my clothes ripped off. I was on 4 legs with white fur and a tail. I realised then...I was a wolf... I stopped my growling and whimpered pulling my head back my my ears pointing to the sky.

"Don't be scared Bells. Your like us. You'll be angry for a little while but you'll get better." Jacob calmed me. He kneeled down in front of me messing my fur in between my ears. He phased as well and suddenly, I could hear his thoughts.

'How...?'....Bella

'Your the winter wolf, Bella. Your like us!'.....Jacob

'I...I...'.....Bella

And with that. I ran off into the distance hopefully making it to Canada by tonight.

'BELLA!'....Quil

'Let her go. She'll be back. I know she will.'......Sam

'How can you be so sure?'....Jared

'She's like my daughter. I know her.'....Sam

'She needs time, why can't you see that? She just phased and needs to process what just happened. Want me to go after her?'.....Leah

'Yes please Leah!'....Bella. I heard her laugh after me and I waited at the top of the cliff. She caught up and we ran some where. I'm not sure where but FAR away from Forks.

--2 weeks later--

'Jacob!'....Bella.
It was the day me and Leah returned to Forks. We spent time in the mountains in Canada but I couldn't help but look in on the Denali coven. They didn't see me, but I saw them. I smiled to myself mentally, but I couldn't do it in reality as I was still wolf. I learnt how to phase and how to talk to other wolves in my pack using my mind. I found out I was stronger than the strongest wolf, taller than than the tallest Alpha and more skilled than any other living wolf.

'Bella!'....Jacob.

He leaped at me tackling me to the ground before wolf hugging me. We ran off into the forest with Leah and came back out. I was in human form wearing a tattered t-shirt and tattered shorts, I was bare foot. My hair was little bit of a mess from Jacob launching at me. The rest of the pack was waiting for me. Emily, Kimmy, Jared and Paul came at me with a group hug. Quil and Embry came next with individual hugs that swung me around and around in the air and Sam came to hug me like a father. Seth hugged me so cautiously and yet so happily.

"Well done Bella! You did so well!" Paul praised me for no reason. I looked confused at him. "Then rest of us took around a month or 2 years to recover from the first phase. You took 2 weeks and 45 minutes." Wow, I took the least amount of time to recover out of the entire pack. I guess the wolves really are my family now...

"Thanks. That was amazing! It felt like I exploded into something...AWESOME!" Everyone laughed while I looked up at the sky and replayed that fantastic first phase.
