So when he woke up the city was almost complete he just needed a few more things like gold,iron,diamond,wood and nether rack so he went to mine the gold iron and diamond but he took a bucket of water took it with him but he just needed lava so he looked for hours and hours
But he finally found lava so he made nether rack
