“Cause I love the gap between your teeth…and I love the riddles that you speak, and any snide remarks from my father about your tattoos will be ignored…’cause right now you’re mine…”

I hum along as she sings me the song she likes. She told me she’s liked it the moment it was published or something. We’re sitting under the shade of the biggest tree in our school since it’s lunch time. She’s lying on my lap as she sings the song. The wind was blowing gently, as if going along with her tune.

She suddenly stops singing and peaks up at me. I look down at her and raise my eyebrows, “Is something wrong?”

Slowly, her lips curve into a smile. Her blue eyes were lit with love as she giggles. I softly tap her forehead, unable to stop my smile since her giggle is so contagious, “Okay, what’s wrong?”

She puts her arms around my waist as she buries her face on my stomach, “I love how you smell.”

Oh, god. Somebody tie me up or I might do something she wouldn’t love. Even though she’s my girl friend, I won’t be doing anything to her not until we’re married. “N-Namine (pronounced as na-mi-ney), what are y-you doing?”

I hear her chuckle, “I get the feeling that you’re looking flustered at the moment.” She loosens her hug and slowly sits up, giggling.

I reach out and pinch her cheeks, “You’re so gonna regret that in the near future.”

She nudges my hand away as she rubs her cheek, pouting. “Oh really. Why? What’s going to happen in the future?”

I look into her blue eyes. It was clear that she really doesn’t get what I was saying. I grin at her rather deviously, “When we go to our honeymoon, I’m seriously going to punish you for teasing me.”

“Ha-ha-ha, that’s if you ca…” her smile fades as she looks at me and blinks. “What?”

I look back at her, “What what?”

Her blue eyes locks gazes with mine, “Honeymoon? Isn’t that what…married couples…” she trails off.

I nod, “Yeah. That’s what married couples would do.”

“You’re already planning to marry me!?” she says in a high-pitch voice, unable to hide her surprise and there was a tone of excitement in that.

Unable to suppress my laughter, I grinned at her, “Yeah. Is there something wrong with that?”

“Wha…Wha…”

I lean my elbow on my knee as I rested my chin on my palm and look at her playfully. She looked confused—shocked at what she just heard.

She takes a deep breath and closes her eyes. When she opens it, her blue eyes now looked brave, “You’re not kidding, are you? I mean, I’m really getting a proposal right now.”

I smile, “Yes you are, Namine. But I won’t be able to give you an engagement ring for now since my money’s not enou—”

My eyes grew wider when she pounces at me and hugs me so tight I could barely breathe. Her scent immediately tickled my nose. Her warmth embracing me, “I don’t care. Your words are enough!”

I couldn’t help but smile at myself. I hug her back and close my eyes. God, I love this girl. When I courted her, I had to gather my courage to do that. I mean, we were the best of friends—she’s seen my bad side, I’ve seen hers but that didn’t change my feelings for her. The more I found out about her bad sides, the more I grew to love her. I was afraid she’d say no to me, I was actually prepared for that. To my surprise, she said yes and added, “What took you so long?”
