I'm a human. "Duh, that's obvious", that's what you're thinking right? Well... This is a secret and I'll only tell you. Supernatural creatures exist. No, it's not some ridiculous joke, I'm serious. The thing is, not many humans knows about this secret because all supernatural creatures have this rule "Don't expose us" but it's quite obvious that the rule not always are followed. That's when hunters has to clean up their messes so the humans don't finds out about all this supernatural shit.
"Um, hunters?" Yeah well they hunt "bad people" in the supernatural world, clean up their messes when they screw up, which is a lot, and they keep the balance. Hunters are skilled humans who train to be extraordinary.
And I'm one of them.
My name is Nikita and I'm a hunter. I have dark brown hair, it's almost black, my face is heart shaped, I have a small nose, full lips with a defined cupid bow and the strangest part about me is that my eyes are vibrant auburn. They're almost red and no, it's not because I'm a supernatural creature. I'm completely human, promise. Most people are afraid of me because of my eyes, so usually I wear brown contacts. Unless I'm hunting because then it's a good thing if creatures are afraid of me.
I have a petite body, are 5'2 tall and muscular because of the fact that I train a lot. But even so, I'm "tiny". Most people thinks that I'm weak, defenseless but little do they know, that I'm the best hunter out there.
I'm not exaggerating.
I'm literally the best hunter out there and I'm only 20.
Yeah, I'm that good.
And no I don't have a last name or at least I choose not to use it and I suppose I have to tell you why. Well my parents was both hunters, the best actually and believe it or not, they were the best parents too. Even if they were on missions most of the times, when they were home, all they cared about was little me.
I loved them, I adored them and I wanted to be just like them. A hunter who protects the humans.
One day when I was five, they had recently been on a mission and even if I was little, I noticed that something was bothering them. I've always been observant, good at running, fighting and have heightened senses even though I'm not supernatural. Everyone said that I would be just as good as my parents one day, or even better.
My parents left me at my best friend Mark's house without telling me where they were going. Mark's parents always took care of me when my parents was away. His father was also a hunter but his mother wasn't.
That day, was the last time I saw my parents.
My uncle came and picked me up. I usually didn't see him that often because he was a hunter too and he wasn't close to my parents. He told me that my parents was dead but he refused to tell me why. I thought it had something to do with a sudden mission and that it was to grotesque for me to know about.
As days passed, I could hear whispering from other hunters every now and then. "Poor girl" they often said. "To have traitors as parents"
That one surprised me.
I had no idea what they meant so I asked my uncle and demanded him to give me an answer. Even though I was just five years old at the moment.
My uncle sighed, then told me that they were traitors, that they've teamed up with vampires to overpower the headmaster at the hunter's school and the council. My eyes widened. My parents was top hunters, how could they do that?
I idolized me parents, I wanted to grow up and be like them. I was so disappointed, mad and disgusted about my parents. I wanted to be nothing like them.
Luckily I had my uncle Matthew. He cared for me and when I was 10 I enter the hunter's school and started training to become a hunter. Thanks to Matthew it was still my dream, he told me to become better than my parents and that he would protect me.
I swore never to disobey the rules, always protect the innocent and never becoming like my parents.
Little did I know, that I would break all those things.
