Chloes friends we met at the pizza place weren't all that bad, they definitely all knew each other before coming here. Which is always good, then you don't have to deal with trying to make friends and doing that awkward first hang out, to see if you actually get along. So far they are the only people I have socialized with here, granted school doesn't start until tomorrow but still, no parties, nothing yet. And trust me, I was definitely looking forward to partying. Chloe was here for baking, she was a fucking good cook. Apparently she came from Kentucky originally but moved here when she was in high school, her southern ways actually made me feel more comfortable around her. She was an extremely loving person and she was always cheery and happy, definitely glad I got her instead of some angry goth kid. I knew absolutely no one here, I only came here because it was the best photography school that I wanted to go too. Granted it was far away from my friends but, it was worth it. Washington was cold and wet compared to Orlando, back home I barely got to wear shorts. (It was always so rainy.) But here I got to wear whatever I wanted and I was damn glad.

"Brook!" Chloe snapped her fingers in front of my face, pulling me out of my own world. "Sorry, what were you saying?" I asked, looking at the girl who just scowled at me. "We should look for jobs for you, like on campus. There's a coffee shop hiring in the student quarters like the next street over. You'd be great there!" She exclaimed and clasped her hands together as we walked. She had went around and put in applications everywhere the first day she got here and lucky for her, she's working in one of the restaurants right outside of the school. "Coffee shop would be good for me?" I gave her a questioning glance as we stepped into the student center. "Yes! You like people and back home you said you waitressed! So why not there? You'll get to meet people and get money without having to pay for gas everyday." She definitely had a point there. I wasn't much of a fan of driving, honestly. Yeah I had a car and a license, but I preferred walking where I needed to go, it was easier to take pictures while walking rather than pulling over to take pictures. "Alright, while we're here I'll fill out an application. " I nodded and opened our mail box, pulling out the envelops and handing Chloe hers. "Oh look, or schedules are in. " I grin and open it up. I've always been nerdy and into my classes, I was in my top ten of my class and I got a full ride to college, which I was completely thankful for. Chloe began tugging me sling after her as I read my schedule. Math first on Mondays and Wednesdays along with composition class and Tech-and-society class. Tuesdays and Thursdays were my photography 101, biology one and animal care course one. Double major in photography and vet tech was definitely a lot of work but I could handle it, I was passionate about them and I was determined to graduate with both majors. Folding my schedule and sticking it into my purse we walked into the main student center. "There's a lot of people here. " Chloe muttered and looked around at the pool tables and other games. I laughed at her reaction and walked towards the coffee shop, looking around the small store before ringing the bell on the counter. A tall man with short black hair smiled at me, leaning against the counter as he spoke. "Can I help you?" He said in almost a flirtatious tone. I sighed internally at the male and shook my head. "I just wanted to know if I could have an application. " I asked, chewing on my bottom lip. He smiled and nodded, reaching behind the counter and pulling out a white paper. "Here you are. My names Alan, by the way." He grinned and walked back to the back room. Well, that was quick and to the point. Taking the paper I left the shop, meeting back up with Chloe before making our way back to the apartment.

Chloe had left to meet up with her boyfriend which left me alone to take my application back to the coffee shop. I was alright with the walk alone, Chloe was an amazing girl but she talked nonstop and it was nice to have a moment alone. I ran a hand through my hair as I walked into the building, fixing my wind tousled hair. I still hadn't met many people but I was determined to make my own friends, not Chloes friends. I handed my application back into Alan and held in a laugh as he flirted with me once again. I shook my head and walked into the recreational part of the room, looking around before pulling out my phone and scrolling through it as I sat on one of the sofas. "May I sit with you?" A voice asked from next to me. I looked away from my phone and my eyes landed on a girl, a metal ball in the center of her bottom lip. Her long brown hair tousled around. "Go ahead." I motioned as I scoot over making room for her. "I'm Tegan, by the way." The girl spoke, a smirk on her face as she held her hand out to me. "I'm Brook, nice to meet you." I nodded as I took her hand, shaking it before letting go and going back to my phone. "You remind me of my sister." Tegan mused, looking at me. "Introverted and in her phone." She shook her head and pulled out a piece of paper, writing her phone number and her address. "You don't seem like one though so if you want to hang out, maybe drink a bit. Come by anytime. " She winked before standing up and leaving. Well I wasn't expecting to be hit on but I'm glad it was by an attractive female instead of a male. Sighing I stuffed my phone back into my pocket and got up, walking towards the door before bumping into someone "sorry about that." I mumbled softly, my attention on the address written in beautiful cursive. I pushed the door to the outside open, inhaling the night air before a voice caught my attention. "Pardon! Hey wait up!" The accented voice called as I stopped in my tracks, turning around to face the person. " You dropped your phone, mate." The girl grinned, handing me my phone and retreating back inside without another word. She was absolutely gorgeous and her accent made her almost one hundred times more beautiful. I shook my head, heading back to my apartment. God I hope I get to see her again.
