There was only one thing I absolutely hated and try to avoid the most.. And that is: drama.

There was nothing I disliked the most then drama. I enjoyed watching drama, it was like a live novella at school. I hated being in the middle of it, though. Being stuck in the middle where everyone asks for your opinion on who is right or who is wrong. Someone always ended up hating me and I would feel guilty.

I sighed, looking over at my nightstand. There was a picture in a silver frame. In the picture I was sitting next to a male, my hands wrapped tightly around his neck. A smile brightly shown on our faces as the sun draped on us. I was young, in my early teens. I felt my heart clenched at the frame, picking it up from my nightstand and staring into his glass frame chocolate brown eyes.

The eyes that would calm my nightmares at night.

"I wish you were here with me, Dylan." I whispered lowly. I wanted to break down, I wanted to cry, to sob, to kick and scream... but I knew I had to be strong for him.

"Maya! It's time to go!" I heard my mothers voice call from down the hall. A weak smile formed on my lips as I kissed his glass face. I placed it back and got up, slinging my bag over my shoulder as I walked out of my room with only socks on.

I got to the front entrance of the house and sat on the step near the door. There was a small little step in the inside of my house along where the living room was. I sat there and slipped on my black vans. My mom was very obsessive of the house being shiny and clean all the time so she made us take off our shoes before we came in.

That won't be long until my baby brother is born, he'll be making a much bigger mess then my father does.

"Are you ready, sweetie?" I watched as my father briskly walked over to the couch and picked up his briefcase, a piece of toast in his mouth as he tried fixing his tie but was failing miserably.

"Yep– uh, dad..?" I chuckled as sprinkles of toast fell on the carpet. My mother stormed in the room, glaring at my father.

"The crumbs. The crumbs!" My mother hissed, bending down to pick up the pieces of crumbs.

"Sorry, honey." My father apologized sheepishly, trying to untangle the knots of his tie. My mother frowned, getting up and staring at him. I began to tie my other shoe.

"Do you need help with that, Derek?" My mother blinked, watching my father growl under his breath fighting with the tie. I snickered silently. My mother rolled her eyes and untangled all the knots my dad had made.

"Gosh, you're impossible." She shook her head, fixing his grey pattern tie.

"Yeah, but that's why I have you." He cooed sweetly, his hand stroking her cheek as he leaned towards her.

"Ew! No PDA around your children." I covered my eyes, avoiding to see any smooching with my parents.

"Your the only one here." I heard my dad grumble.

"So? Max doesn't need to see that either." I said, retreating my hands from my eyes. He rolled his coffee brown ones and looked at my mom, his orbs wandering down to her stomach.

"I see Max is growing." He smiled, referring to her belly.

"Are you calling me fat?" My mother frowned, looking like she was ready to cry. I cringed, knowing this wasn't going to end well.

"No. No! I would never. I just– I was talking about the baby. You see– I– Chris, did I say she was fat?" And this is exactly what I meant by drama. Even at home there is drama! But since my dad was using my favorite nickname I helped him out.
