Today was Fumiko's first day of work. The thought of working with her good friend Akito, excited her. So much so, that she could sleep the night before. Not only that, but it was an opportunity for her to start fresh in general as a prosperous member of society. It was he her first job in months.

Her first few days back in Tokyo were a bit depressing, especially because she had to carry the thought of her parents disowning her just one week before.

When she left for Kyushu back when she was still living with Yamato, she didn't go willingly. Her father told her to go back because he had found a job for her. Her dad wasn't necessarily the nicest person. He was strict; and the job that he 'found' was being a wife.

He set her up with an arranged marriage. Something that was the last thing on her mind, for various reasons.

So she decided to leave, because she no longer wanted to be told how to live her life. Fumiko figured that she should be able to make her own decisions.

Her hands smoothed out the small, almost nonexistent wrinkles on her white button up shirt before heading out of her dorm. Fumi was ready to face the brand job that awaited her, even though she carried on with a heavy heart.

Once she arrived at the spa, she was assigned, and taught how to organize online booking and how to take calls. The basic receptionist tasks were easy to get used to, so that same day they got her started.

They walked through the cool mint green corridor to get to the area where she was going to be stationed. Apart from the clean walls with the occasional, watercolor canvasses, there were large windows to look out from.

The view wasn't urban; outside you could see the well-kept garden that surrounded the property. Things like this weren't usually taken care of in other places. The small yet important details are what made Fumi's new workplace all the more special.

She got settled into her desk when she hears a familiar voice call out her surname.

"Miss Yanemoto? Fancy seeing you in the same department." He puts a hand on her head playfully.

"Hm? Akito? Is that you?" She turns her head towards him. There he was. In his crisp white button up shirt, looking handsome. Fumi picked up the scent of lavender; probably from the essential oils that he used to treat people's skin with. That was his job as a esthetician.

He was good at what he did, he was the most high in demand. Some of the phone calls she had received had consisted mainly of people asking if Akito or, "the guy from magazine" as they called him.

"Are you in this area of the building?" She spoke, taking his hand in hers and removing it from her head. "Also, I'm not five anymore."

"Oh, right." He smiles and puts his hand down. "-and yes, I am in this area. I work right over there." He points at the room past the counter. It was the last room in the hall.

"Oh. I see." She nods, not really know what else to say. "Well, I've been taught how to do things already so I should probably get to work, you're popular so you have to get going too. Don't keep your customers waiting!"

"Right. See you at lunch?" He invites casually. Fumi guessed that he had grown to be smoother in the past years.

There was so much she had yet to learn about him. They hadn't exactly had the time to "catch up", and although they could have texted, it wasn't the same as having a face to face conversation. Fumiko was simple that way, and she hoped that she could get to hear of what had become of her good friend's life up until now.
