Early in the morning , Afri was awaken to a sound of a loud scream in the streets. He immediately jumped from bed and seek what was making that scream. From the outside of the window, he saw crowds of people shouting.
The crowds of people : It's coming, It's coming, hide and run do not get caught !
Suddenly, Afri's mother race in. She took afri down to the basement. The basement was normally dark, cold , and uncomfortable. But now , it was packed with food, light, and pillow.
Alfi : Mom why did you take me down here and why are there crwods of people outside? ( He asked while shaking )
His mom : Oh it's nothing to worry about my dear .... Uhhh.... wait here of, mommy will be back in a second. ( she said while backing up from the basement)
Alfi : Alright mom.
His mom : Good boy ! ( She said while closing the door)
Alfi was a brave boy, he is the bravest boy in his school. But not even that could prepare him for what is going to happen. From where he was standing was an open window which led in voices from the speaker. It was the voice of the general.
The general : To my beloved nation and country, this is the we got report from the headquarters. On 1940, without warning, German panzers attacked our borders. We are trying our best to hold them off. But for now , stay calm and don't panic, panic will make things worse !
Some people in the streets : Do you hear that, nazis are coming, we better hurry ! ( they shouted as they were running away)
Alif said to himself : Nazis?? What are those ?
Alif never knew about the horrors of the nazi ragime. Evil, horrible, and powerfull countrys. His parents never told him about the newly started war cause they fear that it could make him panic and restless.
Alif : Alright, stay calm and don't think of it. Panic can make things worse! But, where are my parents anyway? ( He said while sitting in his bed)
Meanwhile, his parents are in the living room and discussing about something scary. They knew about the Faciast nazi ragime and the grim fate awaiting them in the grave. They are trying to find a way to safe Alif.
His mom : No, we can't send him away, we just can't! ( She said while crying)
His dad : But dear, thats the only way he will survive. Look the nazis will reach here and will take this city, if we don't evaquate him, he will not survive......
