Morning was never easy. Woke up with usual pain on head, took a shower, got out of the shower when the lungs began to rebel, ate breakfast, went back to her room and calmed down, then choked on medicines.
When the clock said 1 in the afternoon, a middle age man would came to teach. Mr. Mcdowels, a history teacher in the school she used to go, Park's High School. Alstenia had been doing home schooling since the age of 10. Her first diagnose was when she was 6, a tumor on her brain. Doctors predicted she would not live to see her 15, but she was 18 now. For her it was not miracle, it was fortune, and that fortune would be over, soon.
Her father and mother had been working to death for her medications, hospital bills and her study. Everyone kept on giving her tons of reason to live, that everyone loved her, and everyone would miss her when she's gone, but what if she was tired of the idea of living already?
But then, one day, on a cold-white corridor, she met him.

Shane was an orphan, or he thought so. Tragic? Yes. His younger sister, Shelena, was suffering from Leukemia, and had been hospitalized for almost two years. Shane, himself, was an alpha on basically everything. Captain of the school basketball team, class monitor, top ranked student and too good looking, it hurted.
But no one had ever known the life he had been living. Working here and there to pay both his study and his sister's bills, to feed himself and to find his so-called parents.
Shelena had been kept on telling him to stop trying too hard, that he had done more than enough for her. He used to not agree with this, but everything eventually went back to square one. Just when he was going to stop. He met her.
