Uhmmm, yeah, sorry for the loooooong wait everyone but, yeah, I think I finally have a grip on myself. (Laughs awkwardly.) SO.. I'M BACK?

Verde sighed again. They only have one week now and yet they still have nothing on their hands. He had lowered his pride and tried to ask his fellow scientists about this case yet it seems as though they too are clueless. Some suggestions are pretty reasonable but it proved useless when they tried it.

He sighed again and massaged his temples. This is proving to be quite difficult.. and dangerous. Yep, add dangerous and life-threatening with his life literally on a thin thread with these dangerous, he too is quite dangerous but not as much as these crazy people, pyschotic, manic, wild, demonic, sadistic and trigger-happy devils breathing down his neck if he so ever blink the wrong way.

Seriously, they're not helping him relax. It may be true that they are helping him look for that damned solution but their help is not needed if they always come out empty handed. He huffed. They should leave him to his own devices. It's not like he'll let the future Vongola Don and his Cloud die anyway. He love his life and he do not accept failures and this one is the greatest challenge dished out to him yet. And besides, Tsuna and his family helped them, the Arcobaleno, break the curse that had been plaguing them. So it's only right to pay them back. And in a sense, he allied himself with the Tenth Generation of Vongola. He still can't comprehend why he did, part of his mind chalked it up to his rare 'spur-of-the-moment stupidity' while the other part clings to its belief that he respects and acknowledges the sheer strength and power of the future Don.

No matter what his mind thinks, Verde will still hold on his first reasoning. Denial isn't just a river, after all.

When Reborn came back to the base flanked with Yamamoto, Skull and Coyote, he felt the unusual anticipation crawl up his physic. His hands suddenly shook from excitement. His face must have shown an uncharacteristic expression because he felt Skull's questioning gaze. He schooled his looks before throwing a glare towards the Cloud. That made Skull look ahead.

When they passed by the room where Nana and the kids are, they stopped. Yamamoto knocked on the open glass door.

"Good evening, Nana-san." He chirped, fake cheery expression plastered on his lips.
Nana seemed to notice too for she just stood up with a somber look and gently touched her son's friend.

"Good evening, Decimo-sama's Mother." Skull bowed.

"Good evening, Mama." Reborn quipped with a tilt of his fedora while Coyote grunted a respectful greeting.

"Good evening, too, gentlemen." She smiled, a ghost of her usual smile. "Have you eaten yet? I and the kids made some sukiyaki."

"Really? That's great! I'm quite ravenous, Nana-san! Reborn-senpai didn't allow us to stop over and eat for the whole day." Skull whines which earned him a half-hearted smack to the head and chuckles.

"Well then, why don't we proceed to the dining room." The usually bright woman said.

The walk was quite tense and laced with a heavy atmosphere despite Yamamoto and Skull's antics, a futile effort to lift up the moods but appreciated. They fear the question that would undoubtly come and they fear more the answer they carry. They all cannot bear to look at Nana's broken look every time she ask that question and they answer. It was heart clenching.
In a way, they understand her. She is but a mother with her only child lying in some incomplete machine who has the possibility  to never wake up again. They can all see how much she tries to be strong, how much she clench her fists in an effort to not cry whenever she watches the kids, how much she try to act normal. They all see her suffering with the knowledge that she may loose her son in a week now. Yet they cannot do anything but just look and see and act normally for her sake, to keep her grounded to reality.
