As his hands grip my fragile neck, his deep brown eyes now swallowed by the darkness of his soul; looking at my reflection hoping he could see my cries, as my golden skin now turning shades of purple.
I try to scream for help but his thumbs pressing on my neck continuously , stopping me from projecting my voice... Blood rushing through my head as my eyes role to the back of my head..I gasped for air laying in a pool of my own sweat once again, it was just a dream... I sat up & observed my room, watching night fall & day approach so slowly, the vibrant colours reflecting the white Walls of my room. Deciding to get out of bed & getting in the shower, I grabbed my towel & my hygiene stuff; I let the shower run for a bit as I did the rest of my daily routine. Slowly, dragging myself into the shower as the hot rays beamed over my body, running my fingers through my hair as my body relaxes, I closed my eyes for a second trying to get my mind at peace but flashbacks of that same nightmare I've been having for the past week now keeps replaying. I cut the shower off with no hesitation as the walls of the bathroom began to close into me, I grabbed my towel & dried myself off, wiping the steam off the mirror gazing at my reflection, bags formed underneath my eyes, as my eyes sunk in to the back of my head. Cheeks caved in as my cheekbones stuck out, no form of structure to my face what so ever.
Deciding to put on some old jeans & a tank top, with a pair of converse, the usual; contemplating if I should keep my curls or straighten it, which I decided to keep my #50shadesofblonde curls. Last but not least my everyday make-up routine, concealing all my horrors. I packed the last stuff into the last moving box, my temporary room was now looking really empty kind of like how I'm feeling, living here with women all with similar situations ain't a place for me to get myself together, I'm happy I'm moving.
Didn't say goodbye to anyone as I always kept to myself, I grabbed the last box & ran down the flight of stairs putting it at the back seat of my car.
I started up the engine & put my seatbelt on, tuning the radio as the music filled the cars atmosphere, Spring was nearly ending as summer was slowly breaking through, driving down the city streets capturing the last moments this move will do me good as I'll be far away from him & he wouldn't get me.After hours of driving I notice I'm finally home.. "Welcome to The Oaks", I drove through the golden brass fence onto a sandstone road, the colossal, green trees intertwining with each other; complimenting the dark wood trunks & branches. The beautiful houses had their own spaces which was really impressive, I reached to number 14 Flentwood Avenue.
I switched off the ignition & closed the car door behind me, I walked up to my new home my feet hitting the hollow wooden steps, towards the doorway. As my hands roamed the Woden frame admiring, the stain glass piece, positioned in the middle; I grabbed the keys out of my back pocket & unlocked the door. The sounds of the key shafting put my heart to rest as now I'm free & set for new beginnings, the door leading to freedom... At last.
