Chapter One

Dick stepped into the kitchen grabbing his morning coffee, like normal adding only a little splash of whiskey to it just before adding in the cream and sugar. Normally he wouldn't do this especially on his first day at his new job at the Blüdhaven police department.

"Desperate times called for desperate measures." Dick spoke to himself hearing the echo of his voice drift though out the apartment that he just moved into no more than two weeks ago, after setting up a place of operations within the city, with the help of Barbra Gordon. He looked at his watch noticing the time. "Shit!" He said grabbing a lid quickly placing it on his coffee cup, before grabbing his keys heading for the front door. He turned and looking at the set up before opening the door and leaving.

"Tonight's the first night of patrol." He said to himself making his way to the elevator.

"Armitage this behavior is unexcitable!" Chief Redhorn yelled slamming his fist on the table while looking at her. "How many times must I tell you to get your shit together and leave D'anclaude fraction alone! Keep messing with this old case and I'll have your badge! You got me!"

Naria scowled taking her visor placing it over her light blue eyes. "Yea yea." She replied turning on heel to leave when the chief called out once more.

"Stay your ass within screaming distance. Your new partner will be arriving soon. After you can take him out to work on this case." He grabbed the folder that laid on his desk holding it up before tossing it back down.

Naria stopped looking back at him. "I work alone." Reaching out she grabbed a hold of the door knob turning it walking out of the office just as Detective Soames walked in bumping into her shoulder. The douchebag she hated him so.

"Sorry angel fish." Soames smirked hearing a low growl as she continued walking down the hallway, making her way to her desk.

Soames walked into the office closing the door behind him making sure that no one could hear what was going to be said. "So chief will she back down? Cause if not I wouldn't mind breaking her in." He chuckled at the thought of bending Armitage over a desk and fucking her senseless.

The chief brought his fingers to the bridge of his nose pinching the skin as he sighed." If she continues to dig into the D'anclaude fraction case, we'll have to take her out. And during that time you may do whatever you pleasure. But that is only if she keeps it up."

Soames smirked bring his hand to his chin rubbing his facial hair. "Then why not partner her with me? You know damn well that I will keep her ass away from that particular case."

"She already has a new partner, he starts today. With her busy showing the noob around she won't have time to really get into records." Redhorn replied hearing Soames growl.

"Whos the noob?" Soames asked taking a seat crossing his legs.

"Richard Grayson." Redhorn paused opening Richard's file. "Says here that he was adopted by millionaire Bruce Wayne, and that he graduated at top of his academy classes.

Soames glared at Redhorn then shook his head. "Just another goody goody."

Just before Redhorn could speak a knock came to the door. "Come!" He called out.

The door opened with Richard walking in." Dick Grayson reporting in." He announced.

Redhorn arched a brow while motioning for Dick to come in and take a seat. Dick left the door open making his way over to the empty seat.

"One welcome to Blüdhaven Police Department, I expect great things from you Grayson. Two I personally selected you a partner that will work closely with you and help you get settled into your position and daily jobs." Redhorn leaned back in his chair.

"Thanks." Dick said taking a sip of his now semi warm coffee.

"No Prob kid." Redhorn picked up the file handing to Dick. "This is the case both you and your partner will be working on."

Dick took the file opening it, scanning the page before looking up at Soames. "Your my partner?" He asked.

Soames laughed pushing his chair back as he stood, making way over to Dick placing his hand on his shoulder replying. "Naw Man." Soames turned back to Redhorn. "Better tell him about firecracker sir, and I will see you later." He turned heading out the office leaving the two to talk some more.

Redhorn shook his head seeing that Dick had arched a brow in wonder. "Better to let you see." He said. "Armitage get in here. NOW!"

A few minutes passed before Naria finally walked in the door. Dick turned in the chair seeing a girl that weight about one hundred and seventy five pounds with a soft tan complexion, light blue eyes, with long black hair pulled up high into a pony tail.

"Ya called?" Naria asked crossing her arms across her chest.

Redhorn scoffed. "This is Richard Grayson, your new partner. Take him to get his gun and then start working on the case that he has."

Naria shook her head looking from the chief to Dick before speaking. "Let him figure out where to go, and besides I work alone."

"There is no negotiation about this you shall comply." Redhorn firmly spoke opening his side drawer to the desk pulling out a badge setting it on the desk in front of Dick. "If she gives you any problems let me know she is up for review very soon."

Naria rolled her eyes walking out of the office, as Dick reached for the badge that lay on the desk.

"Just a warning Grayson. When Armitage puts on her visor stay out of her way."

Dick nodded taking the badge pinning it to his shirt as he walked out of the office after Naria. Seconds later Dick caught up with Naria as she walked to the registration desk.

"So noob what shall I call ya?" She asked slipping a piece of gum into her mouth.

"Just Dick." He replied letting his gaze lower to her ample bottom.

"Quit lookin at my ass." She growled stopping at the door that lead to registration, turning back gazing at him.

Dick's eyes widened before a devious smile spread across his lips. "I'll try." Placing his hand on the door he pushed it open entering the small room to get his registered gun. Within a few minute he walked out noticing Naria was gone. He let his gaze fall thought out the office trying to find her, but there was no sign of her.

"Awww if you're looking for Armitage she went to the car to wait." A female said as she made her way up to him. "Better warn you Armitage don't like men so don't get any ideas. She put her last male partner in the hospital for touching her."

"I'll keep that in mind and thanks umm..." Dick replied looking at the woman's name tag "Ms. Wilson."

"Sure thing." She smiled walking into the office, as Dick turned and headed out to meet up with Naria.
