Chapter 10

Welcome to chapter 10! You don't understand how sorry I am for not updating. These next few chapters will definitely be longer and I hope you'll continue reading. But anyway...you know what's weird? Oh yea you don't know...sorry. Um anyway it is so amazing how I decided to started this book and I'm happy with my progress so thank you for supporting me this far. I SERIOUSLY love you all. Oh and I don't want to make any excuses on not updating but I have to. I'll talk about it in the end of the chapter. But now I hope you enjoy chapter 10. See you guys at the end.

Once I heard the noise I guess Xavier heard it too because he stepped in front of me.

"I got this. Just stay behind me Alice." And he pulled a gun out of the back of his pants that he was wearing. I was getting nervous but I wanted to know who was vandalizing my house.

We went up stairs very quietly and heard sniffing coming from my room and opened up my bedroom door. I was surprised at who I saw. I gasped and Xavier looked at me as the person in there was my best friend, Brianna.

She looked up at us and her thick brown hair was covering parts of her face. "Alice?" She stood up and put her hands in the air when she saw the gun, looking terrified.

"No Xavier! Don't, this is my best friend, Brianna." I said starting to walk towards her. She held her hands out and I walked over to her, embracing in a hug.

We were probably hugging for minutes before I heard her crying. I let her go but she still held onto my shoulders. "Bree, you know it's only been like two days since I've been gone right?"

She sniffed, "I know but when I was on my way to your house on Friday you weren't there. But you know how you told me where the spare key was, right?" I nodded and she continued, "Well I came into the house and started to panic when these two men came in and drugged me. But that's all I remember." She explained before sniffing again.

She looked over my shoulder to see the man with the gun, Xavier, who was not smiling at all. "That was probably us. We don't like snoopers." He said looking over his gun. Why doesn't he like Bree?

"Is there something wrong between you two?" I asked looking for some answers.

Xavier looked at my confused face and lowered his gun," I just...I didn't know she was your friend, that's all."

"Well I am. So who are you?" Bree said blankly.

I decided that they should get to know each other before one of them takes something the wrong way, so we went out to eat.

When we got to the restaurant and had a quick brunch, but something felt awkward between all of us.

"So...Bree, why did you come over to my house on Friday anyway?" I asked breaking the silence.

Bree looked at Xavier, who I was sitting next to. He had a blank face looking out the window, and then looked at me, "Well I was having a bit of family issues and was going to you for some help. But when I got there you were gone." There was another break of silence and after a long time before Xavier said something, "Well Brianna don't you not have any other friends?"

I looked at him and scolded but then I realized, is he jealous of Brianna? "Hey. You do not hve to get jealous over Bree. She was just coming to me for some help but I wasn't there. Which I apologize for."

He just looked down and finally our food came. The waiter cautiously put our food down but couldn't stop looking at Xavier. I wish I could've told her he was gay. We all seemed to finish our food quickly and got back in the car to take Bree home.

Once we got to her house I said I would walk her up and we both got out of the car. As we walked to the door the chilly air was starting to get to me so I held my hands to my arms.

"Alice what's going on with you? Who is that guy? And why aren't you at home anymore? I'm gonna call the police if this guy kidnapped you." She asked rapidly. I smiled a little I just think it's funny how worried she is, even though I should't be smiling.

I gave her a straight face, "It's way to hard to explain. But I'm confused myself and I don't really know when I'm going to get any answers. All I know is that my mom is trying to kill me and I'm with a mafia family that my...uh dad was with and they are trying to protect me. I will come back home eventually but I've got to get rid of someone first-" I started tearing up and tied to continue, "And...and they er...killed my dad." I said through my tears. Brianna teared up too and pulled me in for a hug. "I am so sorry Alice. I really am."

Bree was wearing a worried face but then she sighed wiping some of her tears even though more kept flowing out, "As long as you come back I will always be a call away. And you can totally stay with me when this whole "mission" is done." She hugged me before saying goodbye and walked into her house, closing the door behind her.

I wiped my tears and walked back to the car and saw Xavier on his phone. I need to stay strong. Once he saw me he put it away very quickly for some reason.

"Who was that Xavier?" I asked growing a small smile on my face.

"Uh...no one. Let's go and get your stuff now." He said getting red.

When we got to my deserted house I paused before touching the handle. I was nervous but stepped inside and just stood for a couple seconds. I was remembering the gun shots that went off and I squinted my eyes shut before opening them and proceeding forward so I can get my things and leave.

I went upstairs into my dad's room just remembering the blood that was not evident anymore which was strange because I don't remember someone anyone cleaning it up.

I heard a clicking noise behind me and whipped around and almost lost my breath when I saw Antonio.

I almost screamed too. "Hey. I don't like visitors." He said gracefully with that stupid smirk, pointing the gun right at me.

Ok everyone....I know that it has been taking me a long time to update and I'm truly sorry for keeping you waiting, I haven't really been focused and school has started, but it is very heart warming how you guys keep on asking me to update :) but guess what, you have 1 extra chapter waiting for you right now!
