Chapter 2

Muffy's POV
I sat down on a bench. It was one of those long benches, I didn't even notice the girl who was sitting on the other side. She looked pretty, long dark brown hair, hazel eyes, a black jacket, blue ripped jeans, and knew high boots. I wanted to say 'hi', but I was too shy to even smile.

Natsume's POV

As I was getting soaked a girl walked up and sat on the bench. I don't think she noticed me, but I think she took a glance in my direction. I stared for thirty seconds, she looked like a cute little plushie (of course I'd know, I have a while collection at home and I'm proud!), but she didn't look so happy. She wore a long, gray raincoat, matching gray rain boots, brownish hair, big brown eyes, and her nose was red, which made her look even cuter, but she looked like she hasn't slept in months. She had a bag of groceries in her left hand, which looked like, milk, eggs, and bread. I opened my mouth to say hello to the girl.

"He-hello!" I said with a big smile.

She looked my way.

"H-hi." she replied with one of the world's tiniest smile.

"So, umm, you feeling okay?"

She turned her face and nodded.

"A little shy? I see. I'm shy, too." I said to start a conversation, but she had nothing.

Muffy's POV

"He-hello!" I heard come from the direction of the girl I was sitting by.

I was scared, but I turned my face and replied with a smile.

"H-hi."

I was really nervous. 'What if she knows my parents? What if she's a spy? What if her parents are nearby watching? WHAT OF MY PARENTS ARE NEARBY WATCHING?!'. I felt a little unsure about that last one, they'd be too lazy to even walk down one step on a day like this.

"So, umm, you feeling okay?" She said.

I didn't know what to do. I just nodded and turned my head.

"A little shy? I see, I'm shy, too."

I stayed quiet.

Natsume's POV

"M-my name's Natsume." I said.

She turned and looked me up and down before she said anything.

"I'm Muffy." she said.

Wow, even her name sounds cute.

"So, are you going anywhere?" I said.

She shaked her head.

'What if she's homeless?' I started to think, but it started to not make sense after a while.

"So Muffy, want to be friends?" I said stupidly.

She looked shocked for a moment.

"Uh, okay sure." she whispered.

'Yay!'

Muffy's POV

"M-my name's Natsume." I heard her say.

I turned my head her direction ad made sure there wasn't any microphones or anything to be seen. She looked like a nice girl so I told her my name.

"I'm Muffy." I said without a regret.

"So are you going anywhere?" she said.

I was scared to answer, but I shook my head no.

"So Muffy, want to be friends?" she said.

That question made my stomach flutter and it made me nervous.

"Uh, okay sure." I said quieter than I thought.

After I answered, I could tell she was a little happy, just by looking at her 'Trying to look calm face'.

Maybe this is what God had planned for me, maybe this girl was the key out of my parents clutches.
