the weeping willow (poems)

neglected dog

this poem is dedicated to my dog named patches who died on June 27 2011

here lies a dog left neglected

a dog resurrected

a dog filled with hope

but left down to mope

and tied to a rope

left there to die

living in a lie

lost without might

praying for light

for a day may soon come

for its race is now run

for the wounds meant to mend

shall soon be its end

for as the light now fades

mending the un-holy raids

but now it lays

an empty house aways

dead and forgotten

a time left a rotten
