Beware the man of wood
He hides beneath the trees
His black coat on, his skin as pale
As my moonlit piano keys
I thought his heart could beat
But I knew this wasn’t true
Because the air around his was a winter’s day
As sure as the sky is blue
He watches from a distance
As you knew, I’m sure
So he knows where to find you when needed
With a slight knock at your door
This man has been my friend since youth
Through nonexistent eyes
I warn you all, to obey his order
Like I should have, when I was alive.
