*Five years later*

My toes squished around the pink, frilly rug as I brushed the cheek color across my face. Believe in yourself, I whispered. My hair was parted down to the left side, straight and silky. May 23, the last Tuesday before school ended and the week had started off great. The radio was on full blast, my thin, white curtains were opened up letting the sunshine burst threw the window. Nothing could possibly ruin my day today, the whole week I had no exams or tests to study for, there was no drama or gossip at all.

I jammed my feet into my black vans and took a look in the full-length mirror. Dressed in dark wash Hollister jeans and a white and yellow striped crop top, I stood with confidence glowing in my hazel eyes. I took a bobby pin from the small circular jar that lay on my wooden dresser. The bobby pin was a light brown color, almost matching the color of my hair. I pinned my bangs back in a straight line starting on the side of my head, ending at the back. A smile crept across my face and I skipped down to the kitchen.

Daddy was standing by the island in the middle of the kitchen placing a peanut butter sandwich into a plastic bag. "Morning," he greeted.

"You're up early," I said opening the fridge looking for the orange juice. I pushed the milk back and wrapped my fingers around the handle, finally finding the orange juice.

He grinned and handed me a paper bag, "Thought I'd make you lunch for a change," he remarked.

I smiled and took the bag from his hands. There was a bowl filled with cereal placed at the head of the dining table.

"Why did you leave bed at this hour?" I giggled while taking my seat by the Captain Crunch.

He sat across from me and sipped his coffee. "Couldn't sleep, the neighbors were making a raucous. Again," he chuckled. I poured the 2% milk onto the cereal letting it fill up.

"Ah," I said clueless. I scooped the cereal onto my spoon and devoured it quickly shoveling more into my mouth. The taste was sweet. I finished the bowl and placed it in the sink. With that, I walked into the bathroom and picked my tooth brush from it's spot on the counter. I squirt the crystal blue toothpaste on the bristles and dragged it from left to right on my teeth.

I rinsed the brush off and looked in the mirror for a last glance. I trudged out to the hallway and met my dad's glance.

"Have a good last day of school!" he exclaimed waving me goodbye.

I smiled and skipped out the door. As I walked down the sidewalk to my bus stop, I caught up to Georgie.

She squealed, "Oh my gosh. I absolutely can not wait! This day has to go by quick," she shook my shoulders back and forth in front of her grinning. We talked about the things we were going to do and all the exciting adventures from the previous year of summer vacation.

The bus finally arrived and we piled into it. Georie and I had seats toward the back. We sat next to each other, her by the window I had the isle seat.

We were discussing summer and her trip to Europe came up. "So my mum was thinking I could go by myself this year since I can drive and all. And," she babbled on, "I was wondering if you wanted to come?" she smiled.

"Hm, let's see. Going to London with my best frien- yes of course!" I hugged her.
