Chapter 4

CHAPTER 4: NEW FACES






We were sitting there for what felt like 10 minutes, until I felt Scarlett's body go limp. She fell asleep. I let out a low chuckle and slowly lifted her up bridal style, climbing the stairs to her room. "Which room is it?" I growled out of frustration. Opening every blasted door upstairs what felt like an eternity, I finally found her room...I think. I entered a room that had a bed with black and purple covers, the walls were covered with posters and beautifully drawn artwork. Guess this is her room. I walked towards the bed and gently placed her and tucked her in. My curiosity got the best of me and I started to look around her room. On her desk were pictures with her and other people, smiling and laughing. "she doesn't smile often does she" I whispered. I looked back at Scarlett to see she was sound asleep, her chest rising and lowering. I quietly left her room and walked downstairs. I made it this far, escaping prison and now hiding in this girl's house not knowing she has a murder, a wanted man in her house. I laid back on the couch, staring up at the ceiling.


"What the hell am I going to do with my life?". I felt my eyes start to close slowly. I wanted to stay awake but I finally gave in, drifting to sleep.


~NEXT MORNING~


I heard birds chirping and the light entering the living room outside. I opened my eyes and saw 2 eyes staring back at me.


"WHAT THE FU-" bringing my head up which resulted clashing forehead. "Ow...what was that for?" Scarlett groaned in pain while rubbing her forehead.


"ME! YOU WERE THE ONE STARING AT ME!" I roared.


"Oh yeah..umm sorry about that" I glared at her while rubbing my forehead.


"Anyways, why the hell were you staring at me?"


"I dunno..." she said, her eyes staring at the floorboard. I seriously don't understand people.


"Whatever" I mumbled. She opened her mouth to say something when the doorbell rang. Shit. What if it's the cops!? I started to panic inside, but on the outside I was calm and collected, though I have a minor headache from SOMEONE early this mourning. "Be right back". I watched Scarlett answer the door and 2 woman walked in, they seem to be same age as her. One had light skin with long black hair. The other girl had brownish skin and long brown hair.


"ERMAHGERD SCARLETT I HAVEN'T SEEN YOU IN FOREVER!!" said the girl with black hair and pounced on Scarlett knocking her to the ground. The other girl shook her head disapprovingly.


" Damnit Alesha get your ass off of Scarlett"


"NO YOU CAN'T MAKE ME" While they were both bickering, me just sitting there just watched them in amusement.


"COME ON GET OFF ME ALESHA I'M SUFFOCATING DOWN HERE?!" " SUFFER IN SILENCE MORTAL" Scarlett's auburn eyes stared into mine.


"Can you please get her off me Hunter."


The two girls immediately stared at me with wide eyes.






SCARLETT'S P.O.V






"Can you please get her off me Hunter" I pleaded


I could feel the awkwardness in the air when Alesha and Brianna gave Hunter the stare down.


"Who's this Scar?" I looked up at Brianna who was waiting for an answer.


"I would like to answer your question UNTIL SOMEONE GETS OFF OF ME?!"


Alesha let out a creepy laugh and got off me. Rising to my feet, I started explaining to them why Hunter was here and how I pretty much ran him over...not really easy to explain.


"Well that does sound like you Scar." Brianna said smirking. I gave her a glare.


"Shut up you mudblood." I growled


"You shut up mundane" Brianna striked back.


"Well played"


I looked over to see Hunter and Alesha having a staring competition. What the fuck? I could seriously feel the awkwardness in the air again. So I decided to break the silence.


"Breakfast anyone?" Giving everyone an evil smile.
