The less-than-sunny day outside the window reminded Lorelei that despite how dreamlike this day felt it was definitely not a dream. If it was a dream the sky would be bright and the day sunny. But it was overcast and drizzling.
Tony was watching Lorelei eat. He scarcely touched his own food. Lorelei on the other hand was very hungry and was eating a little too quickly. She tried to be ladylike as she ate, but she wasn't so good at it.
"So you're a model?" Tony asked just as Lorelei took a bite of food. She chewed for a moment then swallowed what was in her mouth.
"Well, no, not yet anyway," Lorelei replied. "Soon though."
"Mmm, maybe I can get you to do a shoot with my band," Tony said smiling.
"I can do that," Lorelei said.
Tony watched her with a dreamy smile on his face. Every time Lorelei looked up she noticed how attractive he was.
"What do you want to do after this?" Tony asked smiling slightly.
Lorelei looked over at him. "I haven't an idea," She said.
"If you'd like we could go shopping," Tony said rolling a pea around on his plate.
Lorelei looked at Tony suspiciously. "For clothes?" She asked slowly.
Tony looked up at her and nodded.
Lorelei's brow furrowed. "What's the catch?" She asked.
"No catch," Tony reassured her.
"I have no money at all," Lorelei said.
"I've just bought you an expensive lunch. I can afford to buy you a few things," Tony said rolling his eyes.
"Why?"
Tony was silent as he continued to roll the pea around his plate. Finally he looked up at her and smiled slightly. He laid his fork down and gestured for a waiter to bring him his tab which he paid. He offered his arm to Lorelei, and they walked out of the restaurant together.
"What type of girl are you exactly?" Tony asked as he walked her towards a fancy looking boutique.
"I'm a butterfly," Lorelei said half joking.
"A butterfly?"
"Yes, a butterfly," Lorelei said looking up at the overcast sky and being welcomed by a drop of water from the clouds. She looked back at Tony with her own little smirk on her face.
Tony opened the door to the boutique, and Lorelei stepped in with him. Lorelei was completely taken aback by all the beautiful clothing hanging up. Tony had another smirk on his face. He looked at her and walked slowly to a dress hanging up of a light blue color. He took it off of the rack and held it up to her. He handed it to her without a word then grabbed another of a navy blue. He held that one up to her and put it back on the rack.
"If you want you can try that on," Tony said almost flippantly.
Lorelei looked over to the dressing room. She went in shedding her little black rag once the door was shut. She slipped the blue dress on. It was tight on her hips and chest but loose everywhere else. She looked in the mirror and spun to see the whole dress. The paisley pattern looked nice on her, she thought.
"Can I see it on you?" Tony's voice said through the door.
Lorelei stepped out of the dressing room. She felt awkward. Tony's eyes travelled up and down as he tried to decide how he felt about the dress. His nose wrinkled as he decided it didn't look so nice. Lorelei went back into the dressing room. Tony tapped on the door, and he handed her a few dresses through the door.
One of the dresses had black, short sleeves and a high collar. It was mostly green. Lorelei slipped in on and looked in the mirror. It was short, barely going past her rear, and it was figure hugging. She kept looking at herself in it. She didn't know if she liked it or not.
"What's got you stuck in there?" Tony asked.
Lorelei took a deep breath and stepped out of the dressing room. Tony smiled. He gestured for her to twirl for him so she did. "It looks marvelous on you," Tony said.
"Really?" Lorelei said nervously.
Tony nodded. "Go try something else on," He said shoeing her back into the dressing room.
Lorelei put the green dress back on the hanger and tried on a dress that was red at the top half and white at the bottom half. It was a little longer than the green dress. Lorelei stepped out of the dressing room. Tony turned around and smiled.
"What does that fabric feel like?" Tony asked.
Lorelei took a step towards Tony, and his hands went to her hips getting a little too close for Lorelei's comfort. Lorelei's cheeks blushed for just a moment before Tony took his hands off of her hips and handed her more dresses to try on.
"It's soft," He said.
Lorelei retreated into the dressing room. She sat down for a moment to wait for her blush to reside. She looked in the mirror and saw that her face was no longer red. She started to slip into another dress, this time a yellow and blue one.
"I'm coming in," Came Tony's voice.
Lorelei's eyes widened as she just managed to get the dress over her head. Tony opened the dressing room door. His eyes wandered down to her bare legs. Lorelei fumbled to get the dress past her underwear. She flattened it and nervously smiled.
"It looks good on you," Tony said handing her another dress. "Try this one on next."
It was orange and long sleeved with a white collar and button. Tony stepped out of the dressing room, and Lorelei changed into the dress she was just handed. She stepped out, and Tony smiled looking at the dress. "I hadn't expect it to look so good," He said taking her hand and spinning her slowly. "It's so nice."
"Thank you," Lorelei said.
"I think you mustn't try anything else. I don't think anything will top that one," Tony said. He grabbed the three other dresses he thought looked good on her then he walked to the counter.
"She's wearing one of the dresses," Tony said setting the three dress on the counter. The woman looked at the price tags on the dresses and added them all up then looked at the tag on the dress Lorelei was wearing before pulling it off.
The woman told Tony the price calmly. Lorelei's mouth dropped open, but Tony didn't seemed bothered. He took the bills from his wallet and put them on the counter. The woman gave him his change and put Tony's purchases in a bag. Lorelei followed Tony out of the boutique silently.
"So, what do you want to do now?" Tony asked smiling.
Lorelei stared at him. "What do you want to do?" She asked."How about we swing back to my flat and have some tea?"
