"People with talent often fall into the trap of thinking everything's going to work out how they want it to."
karma akabane
After the frustrated blue-haired male woke up his student and invited him to dinner, Karma didn't really know what to think. Haru had grown quiet, but it seemed he was perfectly fine with the idea that the two were married.
"Shiota-sensei?"
"Mmmh?"
"This sushi is good."
"Thanks, kid."
"Oh, Akabane...san(?) made them?"
"Yeah, I did. You can call me Akabane-sensei."
"Oh, then, Akabane-sensei, these taste delicious. Much better than what mother makes, or what I make, to be honest."
He awkwardly laughed and Nagisa patted his shoulder.
"We're going to have a cooking class after exams. I'll be asking one of my old friends to come. She's great at making pudding."
"Ora? You're asking Kanayo-chan? Isn't she filming right now?"
"Eh? Kaede-san makes pudding?"
"She did it once for an assassination attempt."
"...assassination."
"Oh, I would've thought that you'd already heard about it. 8 years ago, a huge yellow monster blew up the moon. 1 year later, our class killed him. Or...I did, anyways..."
"I vaguely remember father saying something about that."
"He didn't kidnap us, for the record. He was the greatest teacher I've ever had."
"I also vaguely remember the news, too. That's 7 years ago... Shiota-sensei, are you feeling well?"
"See, even the kid caught on. Go to sleep, Nagisa. I'll finish grading your papers."
"What about your work?"
"There's not much to do now. Sleep."
"...don't order me around. Prick."
"Love you too. Ah, Haru-kun, do you need a drive back?"
"S-sure."
......"Does he often call you a prick?"
"Only when he's tired and stressed."
"Shiota-sensei still had papers to grade? There's only 20 of us though."
"He makes different sheets for everyone. Just like our yellow octopus teacher did. Tch, but he can't go at Mach 20 and does need to sleep."
"Oh..."
"Good thing I probably know most of the answers. He does most of the papers by memory, actually. And the Internet, if needed."
"A-ah, seriously? Shiota-sensei is really pushing hard."
"Especially for these exams. He wants you all to make it to the top 50, hmm?"
"Yes."
"Work hard then. Your English needs improvement; don't mess up your 'l's and 'r's."
"Yes! Thank you for the ride, Akabane-sensei. It was nice to meet you."
"You too, kid. Get some sleep."
As Karma drove home, he wondered what it'd be like without Nagisa to teach those kids.Without Nagisa to kill Korosensei.
Without a Nagisa to comfort.
To marry.
Karma bit his lip and for once in his life, his golden eyes grew dull and a short, throbbing feeling shot through him as fast as one of Chiba or Hayami's bullets.
Then it was gone.
That night, Karma carried Nagisa up to the bed and slept right next to him, his small blue-haired beauty wrapped in his arms.
thank you for reading!! I do hope you weren't too shot by the "spoiler" and maybe Karma's slight ooc but it's ok!
