Life wasn't always fair, as long as Fiona could ever remember, she grew up poor with an abusive father. He had two jobs to try to support Fiona and her mother, he'd been under stressed all his life and thought that taking it out on his family eased the pain for him. Fiona thought that toughening up was the only thing she could do at this point, but it wasn't going to be easy for a five year old
"Daddy, no! please don't hit me I'm sorry, what I did was wrong, I'm sorry," Fiona had yelled with a cracked voice.
"MOMMY! NO!" Fiona yelled as loudly as she could.
Fiona was tossing and turning she had an uneasy looking face. Right at that time during her nightmare her mom went to wake her up for her first day of school.
"Fiona, honey wake up," Fiona's mother said trying to wake her up. Fiona immediately woke up and grasped her mother's neck.
"F-Fiona, what's wrong?" her mother asked worried.
"Promise to never leave me no matter what happens," Fiona said scared thinking of her nightmare.
"Why would I ever leave you, you're all I've got to live for," Fiona's Mom said worried about what in the world was wrong with her daughter.
"I know but still...." Fiona thought.
"Anyways it's time for your first day of school, so hurry and get ready before your dad comes, I'll take you to school," said Fiona's mom.
"I can't wait to make 1,00,00 friends," Fiona said excitedly like the five year old she was.
Her mom laughed "Well that's very optimistic of you."What's school again and why do I have to go?" Marshall asked confused.
"School is where you learn things like mathematics, english, also you get to meet people," said Marshall's mom
Marshal asked her "Why do I have to go, I don't even care about math or english or people..."
"Marshall Lee! I want you to make friends you never smile, I want you to be happy," She said concerned tone.
"Fine but it's not going to affect me, I'm not going to make friends and I'm not going to learn anything. And smiling? Why would I need to smile for? Its worthless." He told her.
"What about Hambo?" Marshall's mom asked giggling.
"HAMBO DOESN'T COUNT!" He yelled at the top of his lungs.
"Okay then, but either way you're going to school and you're going to at least tried to make a friend," Marshall's mom said.
"Fine." Marshall gave off a deep sigh.
"Hurry up I'll take you to school," she told him.
"Okay, I'm coming."
"Have fun at school Fiona," her mother said as she drops her off
"I will." Fiona told her.
"Have Fun at school Marshall." his mother said as she drops him off.
"No promises."
"Hello Class!" the teacher said cheerfully, "My name is Ms. Lilac and I will be your kindergarten teacher." She continued, "Since today is the first day of school we'll have to get to know each other.""Sakura," said Ms. Lilac.
"Here," she replied.
"Kai," said Ms. Lilac.
"Here," he replied.
"Kuro," said Ms. Lilac.
"Here," she replied.
"Mio," said Ms. Lilac.
"Here," she replied.
"Fiona," said Ms. Lilac.
"HERE!!" Fiona excitedly shouted!
"Marshall" Ms. Lilac said. There was no answer, she calls
For Marshall again but no reply. She thought he was absent but she looked around the class before she marked him off. She noticed that there was only one kid in the class who hadn't said here and assumed he was Marshall but wondered why he didn't say here. She walked up to him and asked "Are you Marshall...Marshall Lee?"
"Yeah.... Why does that matter?" He'd said with an attitude.
"I'm your teacher Ms. Lilac but considering it's your first day of school I understand that the concept of saying "here" after I say your name is new to you. But next time I except you to say "here", that way I'll know you're attending class." She said in a sweet voice. She walked back to the front of the class and started the day."Ok Class now that I made sure everyone is here we are going to do some fun activities today which consists of coloring and snack time, since it's all your first day of school. But tomorrow we are going to learn how to count and learn our alphabets.
"YAY!!" Yelled Fiona, she couldn't contain her self. She was excited to be away from home thought she did miss her Mother a lot.
"Please don't yell. How about indoor voices?" Ms. Lilac said smiling.
"Oh, Sorry," Fiona said.
