"The delta bloodline? Could you be more vague?" I asked in obvious sarcasm.
~I'll give you the answers you seek when we meet again.~
And with that, the wolf ran off into the forest which left me in a particularly confusing position.
"Okay?! I just talked to a really big wolf who seems to know my dad. I think I'm losing my mind." I said to myself trying to reasonably process what had just happened. With no further delay,I started to run home thinking maybe a familiar surrounding could bring me back to reality. I made it home with a thumping heart as a result of the torture I put myself through. I arrived home about a tad bit late, but at least not late enough to infuriate my mom. I walked hesitantly up the stairs tired and breathing heavily pressing my hand against my chest. I opened the door, heard the irritating screech as I pulled down the door handle then I walked up to my mom's room surprised to find her in the blankets on her kings sized bed with a white fancy bedding, working on her laptop.
"Hey boy!" She glimpsed at me with a calm smirk on her face. "Its a little late don't you think?" She had a relaxed tone when she exclaimed that with small grin on her face. Part of me knew that she was joking, but then another part of me was tensed to the fact that mom had raised me in a strict and conservative way. "Its okay,I'm not mad, your growing up. Some day, you'll be a grown man and you'll have your own house or apartment and you won't live with me anymore." My jaw dropped when I heard those very words come out from my mom's mouth. "But that day is not day,so rules are you have to be home before half past seven. There's some meat in the freezer. Cook for yourself a meal with protein cause you need it and then go to bed." After she said that, she continued her busy working schedule. "Okay mom." I replied and then rushed out the door ,rolled my eyes ,sighed deeply and headed down the stairs to fix myself a dinner,I reached for a liver in the freezer, dropped on a plate before getting ready to cook it and swallow it whole.
Couple of minutes later,I got dinner ready for myself. But as I was about to dig in, A howl echoed throughout the ktchen from the forest. I had actually completely forgotten about my weird encounter till I was pulled back into that vague nightmare. Sadly,I knew it was her,and I knew the intention of that howl for me to know that she'll be waiting to see me again. I glared back at my plate and I suddenly I had lost my appetite. I placed the plate of food in the fridge planning to eat it for lunch the following day.
I changed into my grey shirt and pajama pants and started to get ready to sleep. I jumped and dropped apprehensively onto my bed not bothering to get under the beddings. It was really hot,so I saw no point in getting under the beddings. I slowly grabbed a pillow and tucked my hands under it and laid my head on top of it and closed my eyes forcing myself into deep sleep.
The next morning,I woke up and started to do some hard thinking about what had happened last night. Was it real? Could werewolves actually existed? Could everything from fantasy novels and movies actually be real? And if so,am I going to be one of them? I felt like my life had been moulded into some twisted fantasy. And more importantly,I thought about Naila. She said that she would give me all the answers I seek when we meet again. Was I really gonna see her again?
My mind was elsewhere when suddenly my mom rushed into room fixing up her suit jacket. By the way she was struggling,I could tell she was late for work. "I have to go work. Don't forget to scoop up and throw away the dogs poop. ." Come open the gate for me." I looked away and clinched my eyes shut together hoping she could do it herself. "Here! Catch!" She yelled out softly and the clicking sound of keys amused me in way I didn't like. I knew she threw the keys at me but I didn't bother to open my eyes to see which direction they were coming from. But to my surprise,I felt my left arm move in what felt like the speed of a blink of an eye and clinch the keys directly into my palm. I opened my eyes widely nd turned back into the direction of hand and I realized I actually caught the keys. "Uhhmm, nice reflexes." The complement from mom made her sound surprised as if she wasn't expecting me to catch the keys like that either. " Come on! I'm gonna to be late." Yelled mom and with that she left my room with the door open. Soon after she left,I started walking slowly around the house in search of Sammy,my dog. I hadn't played with him in a while,so I figured maybe I could catch up on old times before cleaning up his poop. I finally found him lying on the hot grass looking rather bored.
"Hey Sammy! How's my boy doing." I asked still knowing he wouldn't answer. But then he got up and just stood there on all fours not moving a muscle. He stared at me quietly and didn't even bother to waggle his tail. This was very intimidating because Sammy had gotten into plenty fights with at least six stray dogs and he had killed them all. Seriously,he had all of them on the yard dead from bleeding to death with scars and bite marks on their bodies. We had a full on investigation with the police and SPCA for a week but they dropped the case for reasons my mom wouldn't dare tell me. I was legitimately scared. Sammy would have jumped on me and started licking me endlessly by now,but not today. Sammy continued to stare at me. I had enough of his silent treatment and I rushed back into the house.
"What's up with him?" I said to myself
