Chapter 2

-Four years later-

"I'm going to miss you." Kitty was leaning against the wall of my cell.

I continued to pack up all my paintings that I simply manage with all the spare time I had. I stopped and stared at my last picture, it was dark and sinister. It was by far my favourite image that I had drawn.

It was a field. Big and open and right in the middle of the field you can just make out a girl. The girl was me.

I wanted to represent how I felt when I was in this prison. I am constantly surrounded by Kitty, other inmates or other guards yet I feel alone. I am alone.

"Why Is that?" I asked just to make the silence disappeared.

Kitty laughed then inhaled before saying "That's why. You always question me. you came here so scared and so intimidated. But now you question me and I'll miss having someone around who isn't afraid to do that."

My cell was back to the way it was when I came here. All I had was my paintings. I didn't bring anything from home here because I wasn't allowed to.

Kitty opened my cell and we walked to the reception again. It hasn't changed at all. I looked around and analysed it for the last time. My eyes wondered over to the door where the girl from when I first came to was taken.

From what I heard in the canteen was that she was the first one to go in there in 30 years but no one knows anything about what's in there besides that no inmate comes back out.

"Here you go girl here's some clothes to wear" She handed me a pair of black leggings and a plain baggy white top. It looked like something I would sleep in but I guess it's an upgrade from the off brown jumpsuits.

I went into the bathroom and got dressed. I was in there alone. It's a weird experience being alone. I would usually have Kitty come everywhere with me. Even when I needed to use the toilets she would come with me. It was an awkward situation I had to become accustom to as that was the way it had to be for four years.

I took my time in getting dressed as I wanted to savour the moment. After getting dressed I came out the bathroom to see Mathew standing there. He turned around to look at me.

He looked me up and down and I became extremely uncomfortable. What is he doing?

"Well well well. The past four years have done you some favours." I stared at him with no emotions and instead noticed the small dimples starting to appear on his face. "well don't I get a hello?" He asked me before taking his phone out of his pocket.

I glanced through the big glass windows that made up the front wall of the reception. Out front was parked a big limo. I didn't bother asking where my parents are as I don't care to know of their location.

"okay then, I'm going to tell Andrew to get the car ready. Do you want me to take that folder with me?" I glanced down at the brown paper folder that held my paintings in.

"No I can take them." I said as I looked back up at him.

"Ah, she speaks. Okay well don't be too long I have a client waiting" he informed me before walking out and into the limo.

"well ain't he a douche. Who even is he? Your dad?" Kitty said still looking in the direction of Mathews exit.

I felt the need to chuckle at her interrogative but instead I just informed her of the truth.

"that's my lawyer. My parents probably sent him to come get me because they had work or something." Kitty shot her head in my direction.

"why in the hell would they send him and not come to pick you up themselves" the anger and confusion spilled out from her mouth but I didn't have the time to explain that I am not their main priority.
