‘Run’, the only words on her mind. Not daring to look behind her she ducked under a tree branch, she kept running but she still heard the loud booming of grenades, missile shots and the firing of guns. Sliding under a tree-trunk and ducking another tree, it got even darker as clouds passed over the moon.  “Vamos, Vamos!”She heard the Spanish shout from behind her, and then she heard a loud crackle of thunder, followed by a bright blue-purple light. Then it began to rain.

Almost at the foot of the mountain and soaking wet, she started getting tired and the Spaniards where gaining on her, gunshots where still being fired at her. She had to think of a way to get out of there, but her ten year old mind could only take so much. Then she remembered how her parents had said they would meet her at the top of the mountain and that pushed her to go faster. The thought of being held by her mother was the only thing pushing her onward. As she climbed her way up the steep hill, a feeling at the back of her mind told her that her parents might have lied to her and the feeling of fear overtook her again. Tears mixed with ran and blood was running down her small cheeks, trying to wipe her face, she almost lost her grip.

She quickly firmed her hand on the rock and pushed herself up.

At the top she shouted “Mum! Dad!” and looked around. Someone came out of the shadows, “Mum and Dad aren’t hear.” the man said in a thick Spanish accent. “Where are they mister? They said they would be hear when I came.” The girl asked. The man smiled and said “Your parents went somewhere and they told me to take you. My name is Maxims when we are in the light you shall see my face." the little girl frowned. " I will explain everything I know you must be confused but right, but we should get out of hear the soldiers are coming” the man said and reached his hand out to her. She walked towards him and gave him her hand.

About half an hour later they reached the shores of Spain. Maxims pulled Ferexo toward a huge bout that was already loaded. Once aboard a man shouted with an Irish accent “Aye, they have arrived! Pull up the anchor and lets set off!” then someone jumped out of the air, making Ferexo yelp. The man laughed and said “Heya lass I’m Captain Fergo the Capt'n of this here ship. What’s yer name love?” “My name’s Ferexo.” “Well Exo, welcome aboard The Venger. Now lets introduce ya to rest o’da  crew. Shall we?” he said stretching out his hand toward the little girl.

After meeting most of the crew Ferexo realized that she was really tired so she taped on the Captains arm. He looked down smiling “I’m really tired. Is there a place I can sleep mister?” she said, Captain Fergo  smiled wider when she said ‘mister’ , he took her hand and led her to her room in the sleeping courters.

Right before  sleeping she thought about her parents and her last thought before drifting of was ‘I hope they are okay...’

Fergo walked toward the door of Ferexo's room, looking over his shoulder he wondered how he would explain that her parents had been taken and they would not return to take her home. Shaking his head from the thoughts the walked toward the door and closed it as softly as possible and walked to the deck.

“Jerry what are we going to do? Ferexo won’t know how to deal with it, it'll will be too much for her what if she dies?” Andrea hung by her wrists next to her husband sobbing “Don’t worry love its eight years away, she’ll be prepared, I just hope she’s in good hands and the people will take care of her.” Jerry said with tears streaming down his chin. “Hush up you two, aren’t you suppose to be strong elf warriors? And look where you are now in the hands of humans, you know we’re a much better species than you right? We are much better than you in many ways, but I don’t have time for chit chat now let’s just kill you and be done with it, I have better things to do with my time.” A man in a black suit said to them and walked out of the shadows with a knife.
