Prologue: First Encounter

It was a cold, winter day, and not many people were out and about.  Those who were there were all bundled up in huge winter coats, hats, and boots.  Among these people, a young girl was walking through the small street of the small town, carrying a big paper bag, full of supplies needed to get though some of the cold nights that lay ahead.  The girl was around seven years old, which some of the townsfolk found a bit strange; a young girl wandering around the town, with no parents with her.  The cold air blew through, making the girl’s light green hair flow almost calm-like.  She held on to the parcel tightly as she tried to make her way out of the town.  The bag she was carrying was really full, and she was having a hard time seeing where she was going, since the bag limits her vision.

Then, she suddenly walked into something, and she fell down to the ground, dropping her supplies in the process.  She looked to all of the stuff that spilled out of her bag, and sighed lightly.  Then, she looked up to see what she walked into.  Then she realized that what she walked into, was a person.  A young boy, who looked to be about a year older than her, and he had raven hair, and dark eyes; and he were staring right back at her.  Right into her golden eyes.  He didn’t say anything, he didn’t do anything, he just stood there and looked at her.  The girl was still sitting on the ground, looking up at the boy, with slight wonder.  The boy had a curious look as he stared at the girl, and he couldn’t seem to take his eyes off of her.

“Gray!”

A woman’s voice broke the silence between the two, and they both looked over to see a tall woman with short hair, and another young boy with very light grey hair.  The dark-haired boy got a sour look on his face before he walked towards the other two.  Once he started walking away, the girl quickly picked up all the stuff that fell out of the paper bag, and she continued on her way out of town.  As the woman and two boys were walking in the other direction, Gray turned his head to see the girl’s back as she walked away.  There was one question that was floating through both of their minds.

“Who are you?”
