One Look, That's All It Took

Chapter 1: Welcome to Fairy Tail

*Ten years later*

“Well, this must be it.”

Maia Ingrid, a 17 year-old girl, basic knowledge on magic, walked from East Forest, and into the glorious town known as Magnolia.  She had been wandering through the huge forest for around 3 days, and she was really tired, and in dire need of a soft, comfy bed to sleep on.  She had been travelling on her own since she was 14, and she had been to many places, and exploring what they had to offer.  She looked at all of the buildings and the people around her as she walked through the busy streets.  But she knew she didn’t come here to sight-see.  She came here specifically for one thing.  She had kept on walking, passed the Kardia Cathedral to the place she had heard of many times while she was travelling. 

The famous magic guild, Fairy Tail.

Maia was so nervous, that she was starting to shake a bit.  What if things don’t go well?  What if I’m not good enough to join the guild?  What if they think I’m weak?  She kept thinking in her head as she neared the guild.  She stopped so that she can breathe and try to relax.  She slowly calmed down as she tried to think positively about this.  Then, she looked up at the guild again and started to walk again.  Then, just as she was nearing the doors, they burst open, and someone flew out of the guild, almost hitting her, if she hadn’t yelled and moved out of the way.  Once she got a clear view of who it was that flew through the doors, she lightly gasped.

“Natsu!”

Maia looked over towards the doors to see a blonde girl running out towards the fire wizard.  Maia recognized this girl as Lucy, the celestial wizard.    Lucy ran to Natsu to see if he was all right.  “That stupid ice freak!” Natsu shouted.

 “Calm down, Natsu!” Lucy said. 

Then she looked up and saw the green-haired girl standing a few feet away with a slightly shocked look on her face.   Then, Natsu looked over to where Lucy was looking, and he was surprised to see the girl standing there as well.  Lucy put on a kind smile and said, “Hello, are you here to check out the guild?”

Maia was still shocked over what happened and that she is seeing a couple of famous wizards, that she didn’t hear Lucy’s question at first.  Then she realized what she said, and she replied, “Uhhh, yes, I am.”

“Welcome, my name is Lucy.  What’s your name?”

“… Maia Ingrid.”

“Nice to meet you, Maia!  Come on in, I’ll show you around.”  Lucy started to guide Maia into the guild, and the whole time this was going on, Natsu was staring at Maia with curiosity and confusion.  Neither of the girls noticed this.  Lucy poked her head inside before she walked in, to make sure nothing else will fly out at them.  Maia followed cautiously as she looked around.  She couldn’t believe that she was now in the Fairy Tail guild. 

“Hey Natsu, back for round two?”

The three of them turned their heads to see none other than Gray Fullbuster, the ice-make wizard.  And he also wasn’t wearing a shirt.  Natsu glared at Gray and asked, “Who said round one even ended?”
