Chapter 5
The talent show

Cassidy's {POV}

I was getting nervous the talent show is coming up. I don't know if I can do it. I've never played in front of a lot of people. Only my sister, brother, mom, and dad plus damon have heard me sing Conner has to because I sang in the shower. The talent show is in less than a week. Each day it gets closer I get more nervous I need to practice. I went down to the basement to practice like a hundred times. I need to practice in front of people now that I've gotten it down. I went upstairs to my mom and dad, my sister and brother, plus damon. I asked if they'd let me practice in front of them. I started singing my song for the talent show. I practiced a couple of times in front of them. The talent show is in two days I'm so nervous. My brother said if it'd help he could gather the whole pack to practice in front of them. I nodded my head yes. He smiled and ran out to gather the pack. I was standing on the stage ready to sing when I felt even more nervous. Everyone started showing up I got a drink of water and started singing loud and proud of myself. I hit every note right. Everyone stood up clapping after I finished practicing. I think I can do this I went upstairs to my room took my shower and fell asleep. The next day I got ready to go to the school there's only one day left for the talent show. If I win this I could get signed because there will be celebrity judges. All day i was thinking about the talent show tomorrow. Am I still nervous yeah I am but less nervous. After school I went home to practice again until I got it down again. I got some rest I will be staying home from school so I can practice again. I will be practicing all day I want to win this in order to do that I am changing the song to I'm Already there by lonestar it always puts tears to my eyes but you have to show emotion to what you sing whatever it takes to win. I started singing and practicing my song again and again over and over till I'm not messing up. I ran up stairs and took a shower got my outfit on and did my hair. Everyone are waiting on me down stairs even Conner. I got in my car and drove to school. I waited for the announcers to call me up I took a deep breath and went on. I announced what I was singing and got my guitar.

I finished the song ending with me in tears I left the stage and waited for the results on the winner. They announced my name I screamed and went out on stage they said they really loved my voice and were surprised they said they would sign me to a record label. I was overjoyed and in tears of joy. Conner came up to me and hugged me and said I told you you'd win this. We went back home I was tired and fell asleep in the car on the way home. when we got home Conner picked me up and set me in my bed and layed with me the whole night eventually he fell asleep.
