Chapter 1

A doll doesn't have anything inside, it's empty. Well, that's what they thought. A doll, do have their own voices inside their head to think about everything that happened. But unfortunately, there's no emotion in there.

My name is Bae Byeolsook, and I'm a doll. My master, Bae Sora, named me as Byeolsook since she said that I'm a star, which is Byeol.

Master Sora always read a love story to me every night, or during tea time. Sometimes, she showed me a picture of her crush and told me how she wants them to end up like how the ending in the novel.

I adore her feelings.

Time flew by and Master Sora already married to her crush, the one that she showed me the picture. Even though she's a someone's wife, she never forgot about me. We lived together in a mansion. I was placed on a cupboard. I don't mind, since I can always look at their playfulness and their love for each other.

I want to be like her.
I want to fall in love too.

Many people visited this mansion once Master Sora gave a birth to a beautiful young lady, named Bae Eunmi. I, always watched their facial expressions, their eyes and their actions. I know the feelings happy, sad and hurt by looking at them. I can't feel one, but I still hope that I can feel it one day.

Master Sora suffered cancer, and I didn't know what to do at that time. I was useless, I can't do anything to help Master. Today, it was five years since Master Sora left me. Lonely night, I'm all alone in this old mansion. Sora did tell her parents to give this house to the government, and they agreed as it was her last wishes.

Instead of accepting this house, the citizen were weird by it and decided to label it as a haunted mansion-- no one was living there ever since.

"Bae Byeolsook?" I heard someone calling my name. I was startled but I can't do anything. No one had called me since Master Sora left me.

"Byeol? Do you hear me?" I can't nod nor turn my head to the voice. I'm a doll, and I can't do anything.

"Sora always pray for you, she wants you to have everything you wished for." The voice whispered right it was next to me. "And you want a heart, so god gave you a chance to be a human."

A human? I must be hearing things!

Right after that, I felt myself being lifted and surrounded by light. Am I becoming a human now? The light embraced me, so I covered my eyes using the palm of my hand.

That was when I realised that I can move my body. I looked at my hand and walked to the front and back. "I'm a human!" I said and covered my mouth. I can speak!

I squealed and jumped around.

"Cool down, Byeol." I heard the voice again. I tried to find it, but failed doing so. "Where are you, voice?"

"I'm here, stupid." I widen my eyes as I saw a butterfly-like-creature in front of me.

"Oh my god, you're so small. I'll call you midget."

"Shut up."

I grinned widely and ran around the mansion. I've never felt excited like this. I finally can be like Master Sora.

I finally can fall in love.

"Byeol, listen here! There's things you need to know." I stopped my movement as Midget come closer to me. "My name is Felix and I was sent here to look after you until you became human."

"Became?" I question him. "Yes, you're not a full human yet. All you need to do is to fall in love and to have the same person to fall in love to you. In other words, both of you need to love each other." Felix told me and flew to the window, mentioning me to follow him.

"This is the rose of soul. Which is your life. If all of the petals fell, it means that it's the end of your time. You will turn into a doll, forever."

Felix told me in a very serious manner. I nodded at every sentences. There's lots of roses here, like a field of roses-- but the petals fell off real quick. So I don't have that much time to find the person and fall in love with each other.

I've heard lots of love story! I can do this in no time! (a/n: someone need to tell byeol about love)

"Midget, this is really exciting!!" I cheered and shook his body. He was trying to escape from my grip, but I just tighten it. "Let me go, idiot."

He's so grumpy.
Cute midget.

"Also, before the sun goes down, you need to come back here as soon as possible because you'll turned into a doll. You can still move or anything, only your body turned into a doll. You're not a full human after all."

I nodded. He still tried to escape by the way.

"Hey, midget." I called him. He stopped his attempts to escape and looked at me. "Yes?"

"Do you think I can fly?" I asked, receiving laughter as answer.

"You really are stupid."
