December24, 2103 - outskirts of City State of Oujika (o-LI-ka)

"Asthe rain pounds against the molding stone roof of the old church Iknew with each beat of rain that tomorrow was the day, the day for meto shine."

"Bruh,ya know that was the corniest speech I've heard in my how life, itsnot even raining. Velaro stared at me with a blank face but there wasa hint of a smile behind the hard cold pitch black eye of his.

Velarowore a eye patch on one eye because when he was 11 his whole cityburned down killing eighty percent of the population includingVelaro's parents, and friends. no one from his home town survived thefire without a scar. Besides the eye patch Velaro also had a a purewhite lock of hair on his bangs that dangle almost to his eyes.

"Idiots."leaning against a crumpled stone wall Kelsie whispered, "Can yoube serious, after tomorrow we'll be on the run for our whole sickexcuse of a life." with her sea green eyes lined with black, silver eyeliner and her lips coated with light pink lip gloss itdidn't really match her personality.

AlthoughKelsie was a part of the group neither Velaro of I never reallywarmed up to her. Well it was more like she never warmed up to us.

"Whatdo you want Kelsie, did you lose the target? Or are you on yourperiod?" I ask lightly.

Kelsiecheeks turned bright red, "N-n-no Ualtar I-I just wanted to tellyou I'll be taking a shower so don't come back till blush! I meanDawn." "Sure" I say. Kelsie's face turned an evenbrighter shade of red that I didn't think was physically possible, Ididn't even know why the word "sure" would embarrass her somuch. She turned around and headed back to our base, her longcurly blonde ponytail slightly flowing in the midnight breeze behindher.

Withoutturning to face me again Velaro asked "Dude Why'd you ask thosequestions, ya know that second question was way off topic. Well Iguess it is the last day of our leisure life so i guess we can liveit to the fullest cause, you know, we only have one."

Sometimesit was hard to understand what was going on in Velaro's brain.Sometimes he'd be the comedian of the group or sometimes the matureone, he'd give ramble off occasional advise or maybe screw upbad. Well I guess I'm like that too.

"Wellsince Kelsie is taking a bath we can't go back till another threehours so how about we clean up here in a creative way." a grinwas growing on Velaro's face. "uh oh" I turn around to facethe mess we made a few minuets before. A stench was growing so Iguess we did need to fix it up a bit.

Closingmy eyes I punch my fist into the ground, the pile of corpses burst toflames filling the air with the metallic smell of burning flesh. "Awcome on, why didn't you save some for me!" "Velaro your wayis to inefficient." Velaro made a pouting face but let itslide.

Lookingdown on his watch Velaro commented "ya know that took only nineseconds, what else can we do for another three hours?" "Idunno." I reply "I wasn't talking to you Ualtar, it was arhetorical question!" Velaro said annoyed. "Ill just dowhatever and you go do whatever somewhere else, K?" Velaroturned on his heels and walked away, for some reason everyone in ourgroups' hair flows back when they walk away. Velaro's messy hazelbrown hair flowed just like Kelsie's.

Istood there with a blank face as the corpse behind me sizzled in theflames. I might as well just go adventure in the old church I wasstanding in. I never really had a chance to explore it while we weremassacring the residents.

Theold church was a simple 3 room building with a large lobby. Half ofthe building's east wall has collapsed and the lights inside thechurch seem to have been out for decades. Cobwebs where in everycorner of the building and it seemed the water supply was broken downtoo. As I walked into the largest room which looked like a sanctuarya bright light filled the room but instead of a normal white light itwas blood red.

Normallyin the twenty first century horror movies the main character wouldwalk in to "investigate" this luminescent light but not me,I turned on my heels and ran, no point in going in there alone evenif I am a "Teiki-tekina kontorōra" or TTK, a periodiccontroller who can control a element of the periodic table. There are118 of us and the reason we live is to kill the Genocides, aorganization that was formed after the first TTK was born and theGenocides goal is to kill the us, the TTK.

Idon't walk around with a watch like Velaro but guessing from theposition of the moon it's probably 3:30 AM, seems like enough timefor Kelsie to shower. As I head back toward the base I take one lastglance back and for a split second before I look back forward I see agirl standing at the entrance of the church, I look back this timefor a full ten seconds but she disappeared. Might of been Myimagination, I tell myself but deep down I knew she was there fleshand blood.
