Well the team won 45-34, it was pretty close at first but in the end we defeated them. I was currently sitting on my closet floor looking for something to wear, but I had nothing and I already looked through Casey's side. I wish she was here right now to help me out, I looked down at my phone and saw I had a miss call from Alex. I dialed his number and waited for him to pick up.
"Hey Riley." He said.
"Hey Alex what's up?" I asked looking through my clothes one more time.
"I'm here, and I'm walking up to the door now."
My eyes widen and I looked over at my clock, crap he was right on time. I ran downstairs forgetting to put pants on, and I swung open the door ending the call.
"Um, your not wearing pants." Alex said glancing down at my bare legs.
"Sorry, I'm running behind I have to find something to wear." I muttered pulling the shirt down more
"Oh that's fine." He said smiling.
"Come on, you can wait in my room and we can talk." I said walking up the stairs.
He nodded his head taking his shoes off following me up the stairs, my parents weren't home and my siblings don't live with us anymore which is great so most of the time Casey and I get the house to ourselves. I opened my bedroom door and told Alex he could sit anywhere he wanted to. I walked back into my closet ranking through my clothes.
"Did you hear about Casey?" Alex asked from my bed.
"What do you mean?" I questioned stopping what I was doing.
"Well heard she got in trouble with the principal or something."
"When?"
"Today, during social heard she started screaming her head off and the principal came. She ended up punching him and running out of the school."
I grabbed a pair of shorts and a plain white t-shirt, walking out changed into them.
"Where is she?" I asked looking around for my phone.
"Nobody knows, I thought you knew. I should of guessed you didn't cause you seemed way to calm, and now well that's another story." I turned toward him with tears welling up in my eyes.
"I need to find her." I said grabbing my purse and my phone throwing a pair of sneakers on. "Will have to rain check our date."
"It's fine i'll help you." He said following me.
We made it down the steps when I heard the front door slam shut, I ran over and saw Casey there all muddy and wet.
"Casey! What happened are you okay? Why didn't you call me about you running away?" I asked hugging her not caring that I just got muddy and wet.
"Riley, I'm moving out." She said not hugging me back.
"What?" I asked letting her go.
"My parents are moving back and staying for good they feel its better."
"Casey."
"I need to pack." She muttered brushing past me and upstairs.
I stood there for a moment not doing or saying anything, Alex came over to me and hugged me.
"Don't cry." He whispered.
I didn't even realize I was, until he told me. I wiped my eyes and hugged him back, he rocked back and forth which was very comforting. I heard a door slam upstairs and things being moved around, I honestly didn't feel like going out anymore plus I was all muddy and wet.
"How about we order pizza and watch a movie here?" Alex asked like he read my mind.
"Yeah." I whispered letting go of him.
"Go get changed I'll get the pizza." He said grabbing his car keys and putting his shoes on.
I nodded my head going up stairs into, my soon to be half empty room. I walked in and Casey was packing things into suitcases and boxes.
"Do you really have to go tonight?" I asked handing her another box.
"Yeah, you know how parents are." She muttered not looking at me.
I sighed changing out of my dirty clothes and into some sweats. Casey still wouldn't turn around so I could see her face.
"Casey turn around." I asked sitting on my bed.
She paused what she was doing and glanced my way. "No."
"Why not?"
"Cause."
"Not an answer, turn around Casey." I stated a little more firmly.
She huffed but turned around, her eyes were blood shot and she and bruises on her arms near her veins. I gasped walking over to her grabbing her arm, I touched a bruise and she hissed pulling her arm back.
"Your doing drugs?" I asked backing up a little bit. This is not the Casey I know.
"They help me relax and anyways Derek said there save to use." She muttered going back to packing.
"Derek who?"
"Just a kid in my art class, he has his own apartment and offered for me to live there."
"I thought you were going back home with your parents."
"I lied."
"Casey, this isn't you please don't go. We can get you help and you won't have to ruin your life."
"Ruin my life?" She said turning around. "At least I'm not some whore of a cheer leader who's trying to get with a senior."
"I'm not trying to get with a senior, we are just friends."
"Well whatever you say, but knowing you you'll open your legs with the snap of his fingers."
"Casey I know you don't mean that but you need help or else all your friends will be gone."
"Screw you guys, Derek understands me more than you people do."
"No he doesn't who was there for you for the past 11 years?"
"Guess what I don't care anymore!"
"Well fine be a fucking bitch and runaway, that's what you always did you runaway from your problems!" I yelled, shutting her up finally.
It took her awhile but she finally responded. "We aren't best friends anymore, and to let you know I went through the same thing with Jake and Hunter today. All of you can screw off." She said grabbing her suitcases and walking out.
I followed her down the stairs and she looked at me one last time before slamming the door shut. If only I knew that would be the last time I saw her.
Alive that is.
