Chapter 9 - First Date

I was super nervous hearing that knock on the door. Was this all a joke or does he really like me? I have to stop overthinking things and just YOLO.

"Hi Josh!" Genesis says while opening the door.

"HAZEL! JOSH IS HERE!" She yells from the door.

I walk towards the both of them and stand by Josh.

"Now you go have fun! But not to much fun and I want her back before dinner starts!" Genesis says.

I laugh and Josh nods. We walk to the elevator and just talked about our past on how we used to go to each other's houses and throw water balloons at our parents, prank his older brother once in awhile, and the long nights we spent together at his room. It never really fazed me on how our relationship grew over time but I definitely regret breaking his heart months ago.

"So what movie do you want to watch?" Josh asked.

"I wonder if they have the exact movies that come out this week?" I asked.

"Well heres a list of movies that they have right now playing." He replied.

I saw the purge and immediately told Josh I wanted to see that. He smiled at me and gave me that look "I knew it". There wasn't that much people in our theatre because of how small it was and everyone was at mini golf and the pool.

"Here I brought some skittles and popcorn." Josh said.

I loved skittles and popcorn, well not together, but they are both good. The movie just started and I was already into it. I loved scary movies because of how predictable it can be and it cracks me up to see people jump.

Half way through the movie I noticed Josh's arm around me. I guess I was way to into the movie that I forgot I was even on a date.

The movie finished and Josh told me to follow him. It was about 6'clock and the sun was setting. I had no idea where we were going but it seems Josh knows everything.

"Do you like it?" He asked.

I walked into a separate room down by the beach that had candles everywhere and a table with roses. I noticed Genesis and Trinity standing by the table dressed up as waitresses.

"Operation was a success." Genesis whispers to Trinity.

"Hello and welcome. What would you like to drink on this fine night?" Trinity asked.

"Fruit Punch" we said simultaneously.

Then Matthew comes out of the corner playing a violin. I didn't know Matthew knew how to play violin. But soon after Nainoa, Josiah, and George are doing a fire knife dance. I was so shocked but this is what they were probably hiding from me.

"I've been meaning to ask you this for awhile Hazel." Josh said.

He stands up from his seat and lifts me up out of my seat and stands in front of me like he was going to propose to me.

"Hazel would you..." Josh get's cut off.

"AHHHHHHH." A girl screams from the other room.

There was a fight happening between some of the students and one of them has a gun!!!

"Hazel run!" Josh yells grabbing me.

This trip is totally ruined. First that girl in the ocean and now this stupid fight. This project isn't working out so well and I kind of want to go home already.

I get to my hotel room safely and the problem was later resolved. Genesis was with Trinity and Matthew in the room next to us. Josh went downstairs to help clean up the mess that was made.
