"Father please, it's not fair that I have no control over my life! I've never even met this guy." I plead as I sit at the dinner table with my parents, the king and queen of England, and my brother prince Edward.
My mother looks at me sternly wishing I'd stop fighting this marriage agreement. "My dear you owe it to this family to help us seal this alliance. You will be meeting him soon and I assure you it will all work out." My father says giving me a smile.
I go to protest but my mothers harsh gaze stops me. It drives me crazy that I have no say in who I have to spend the rest of my life with. I sit and poke around the food on my plate not actually eating it. I absentmindedly listen to the pointless chatter that's going on around me.
After dinner I go to my room and get ready for bed. "Alexa don't forget that we are having a ball tomorrow night to have you meet your fiancé." My mother says before closing my bedroom doors.
I hate how powerless I am.
Luke.
"Don't you think you should be preparing to meet your wife instead of inviting Callie over for playtime?" Ashton laughs along with the rest of the guys after I close the door behind Callie. I've known Callie for a few years and she's a regular toy to be played with. I don't see why I'm being forced into marriage when it's evident that I am not a man to be tied down.
My parents, the king and queen of France, want me to marry the Clark's daughter to make our power stronger but I have no interest in some pathetic girl and her dreams of me loving her. As a prince I do not get to choose my wife but I will make sure she is good enough for me before I sign any documents.
"Are you going to take Callie in as your mistress?" Michael asks devilishly wiggling his eyebrows.
I sit down next to them and frown, "If the wife chosen for me isn't satisfying enough then yes I will call upon Callie."
