Zoro awoke with a start, hot tears streaming down his face as he repeated "I'm sorry Robin, I wasn't strong enough to save you, I'm sorry!" over and over.
Robin woke to Zoro's cries and she gripped him tight, and whispered to him, "It's okay Zoro. I'm right here. I'm okay."
Zoro has fully awoken by now and he's wondering why Robin's in his bed.
"Oi! What are you doing in my room?" Zoro asked, quickly wiping his tears so that Robin couldn't see them.
"Oh, I'm sorry Zoro. I came in earlier because I had a nightmare and I asked if I could sleep with you, and I guess you weren't fully awake." Robin sighed, letting go of Zoro so she could stand from the bed.
"I guess I'll leave...good night Kenshi-san." She said, almost in tears. She felt like she overstepped the unsaid boundaries.
Robin reached the door and her hand was on the knob, about to turn it, when her wrist was grabbed.
"Wait, don't go Robin....I want you to stay...." Zoro trailed off as he looked down at the floor to avoid Robin's shocked gaze.
"What....what was your nightmare?" He asked softly, letting go of Robin's hand so she could turn to face him fully.
"You...you died at Enies Lobby and I...I couldn't do anything about it!" Robin cried and Zoro shook his head, his eyes puffy from the recent waterworks.
"I didn't die though, I'm right here. In front of you." He said, looking into Robin's teary eyes.
"I..I know...." Robin smiled, sniffling softly.
Zoro moved forward and pulled Robin into a hug. He would never admit it but he enjoyed embracing Robin, despite her being taller.
"Wh-what about your nightmare Zoro?" Robin asked, loosely wrapping her arms around the swordsman, already knowing that it was about her.
"You were drowning....and I wasn't strong enough to get you. I couldn't swim fast enough to save you." Zoro whimpered as his grip tighend around her.
"It's okay now Zoro...we're both safe...we're both...safe." Robin smiled, tightening her grip on him as well.
And they embraced each other, glad to know that the other was safe and not deceased.
