We barely met then
But I really did tune,
Tapped into a force of
Unfathomable pull
Towards you
Your eyes, it melted
And melded
With mine
But I barely knew you
You could have been
A lover loved
And I rarely fooled you
You knew since then
I fluttered, starved
Just for you
As we watched and played
Laughter was strewn
To the skies
We ran and grazed
Through the barren lands
Of time
And I watched you whisper
As you bit your lip
I tried to rekindle
But something's amiss
My mind's in recovery
For days like this
I knew for a moment
That I'd never leave
My heart held agape
But no one could see
That I loved you
And I want you
But I stood there
To remind me of
That feeling
Those inklings
Ingrained in
But I couldn't
Keep up
As we watched and played
Laughter was strewn
To the skies
We ran and grazed
Through the barren lands
Of time
And I watched you whisper
As you bit your lip
I tried to rekindle
But something's amiss
My mind's in recovery
For days like this
