6:55 am

I was laying alone in my bed waiting for the day to begin, staring across at the alarm clock by my bedside, patiently waiting for my daily wake-up call consisting of my daughter scrambling into my room full of energy at a ridiculous time in the morning, as always. Don't get me wrong I love my life and Love my daughter more than anything on this earth but I do enjoy the peace and quiet that has become such a rarity.

"DADDY"

Here we go. Before I can even roll myself over to look across to the bedroom door, my daughter's face is right next to mine with her signature cheesier cat smile on her face.

"daddy get up get up now now pleaseeee" she begs

"What's got you so excited Laney bug, it's a Monday...nobody should be that excited on a Monday morning."

"Yeh but I am 'cause I need to get to school 'und tell all my friends 'bout the dog we found and then I gunna paint and play and... and... and ...DADDY JUST GET UP !!"

God she does make me laugh. With a dramatic sigh I pull myself out of bed and scoop her up over my shoulder earning me a loud giggle from her. We go about our usual morning routine of breakfast accompanied with food spilled everywhere and a very deep conversation about how she was convinced that her teddies where annoyed at her for some reason or other, proceeded by getting ready for our respective days of work and play. Getting Laney dressed was always easy as she was a three year old fashionista. She loved nothing more than wearing dresses and skirts which really did emphasise her adorableness that everyone seemed to point out everywhere we went. Her shoulder length blond silky hair and stunning dark brown eyes along with naturally tanned skin made my daughter a beautiful little girl, that and her incessant need to help every living thing she saw. Laney had to be the most sympathetic and loving child I'd ever seen. Rushing out of the door struggling to carry Laney's lunchbox, my keys, her coat and a box of paperwork I needed to hand in we entered the car and made our way into to downtown LA.

By the time we get to Laney's preschool she's bouncing up and down in her car seat with excitement and I can barley contain my laughter seeing my daughter so happy and excited for her day. With a quick kiss and an exchange of love you's along with being shooed away by her preschool teacher I'm back to my car and head to the rush hour traffic on my journey to work. LA traffic might just be the worst thing a person should have to endure but it did give me time to relax and listen to the radio playing a random pop singer with the generic happy tune and same old lyrics.

That's one of the reasons I had always wanted to become a music producer. In my younger years I loved listening to music with my parents, them having a huge collection of vinyls and cd's from every genre and artist you could imagine. I was always flawed by music more than the lyrics. The music, the individual instruments and track effects used to build up a piece of perfection that resinates with different people in different ways. I couldn't comprehend my life without music and due to this, I dedicated my life to reaching my goal of creating my own perfection. Slowly making my way through the city I received a call from my studio head and boss Natalie pressing the accept call button I was bombarded with her usual frantic chatter

"Y/N WHERE ARE YOU, OUR NEW CLIENTS ARE HEAR ALREADY...DID YOU NOT GET MY MESSAGE, I SENT IT TO YOU LAST NIGHT....WAIT DID I ??...OH GOD I DIDN'T. NOW THEY'RE GOING TO HAVE TO WAIT AND THINK IM INCAPABLE OF MY..."

Natalie continued to waffle on as I pulled into the underground parking lot of the studios I work in. My boss is a lovely lady, really. She's always been understanding of my home situation and accommodated any problems I've faced with Laney but god was she a mess I'm sure if you could see into that women's head it would be a crazy unsolvable puzzle, with a few pieces missing.

"I'm here now I'll be up in two minutes Nat"

"thank god Y/N" She gasped then abruptly hung up.

Rude I thought. Quickly exiting my Range Rover I headed straight for the small Starbucks counter in the lobby. I know I said I'd be right up but they can't expect me to function without this little pit stop. The normal barista gave me a flirty smile while making my usual order. She was always doing this which kind of made me uncomfortable which it really shouldn't have being as I'm a single 22 year old but to be honest I've never really gotten back in the whole dating game since Laney was born. I know thats crazy and don't get me wrong I had been on a couple of dates and I'm ashamed to say one or two one night stands but I just wasn't interested in getting my heart broken again and with a young daughter, things were complicated at the moment. With a shy smile and a quick thank you I jogged to the elevator and pressed the button for the 5th floor. It wasn't a huge building but I was lucky enough to be employed by one of the most renowned recording studios on the planet. It was always filled with famous artists recording, or going to meetings. I have been lucky enough in my short time here to have worked with Taylor Swift and The Weekend on a couple of their tracks so I'm doing pretty well for a newbie, creating a name for myself in this cut throat industry.

When the elevator dinged I hopped out and headed for the last studio on the floor, right at the end of the hall. It was my favourite as it was dark and cozy which for some reason normally made the atmosphere better and the creativity just flew. Before I could enter I was roughly pulled into another room. Quickly adjusting to my new surroundings I felt a coworker of mine, Josh dusting of any invisible lint on my shirt and tie. He was quickly briefing me on the meeting I was now about to enter with no prior knowledge of so that will be great. Entering the boardroom I saw a few of my colleagues looking at me and the new clients with who I am guessing their management. Five girls looked back at me all with neutral faces but individually looking me up and down which I can only compeer to sizing me up which was intimidating for sure. I apologised for my tardiness and sat down on the side of the table with my other colleagues listening to Natalie begin to talk again

"as I was saying this will be the team who are here to assist in the writing, producing and editing of the album, you already met my first three colleagues but our last member is Y/N. He will be the head producer for the album and will be working closely with you ladies whenever you are in the studio or with whatever you need in relation to the album. He's your go to guy"

I chuckled lightly and smiled at the girls who I now got a better chance to look at. They were each individually stunning that's for sure. Each girl had a style that was clear to see and obviously distinguished and individualised them as a person. There was a small women with an adorable smile that could light up a room, a cutesy women with long brown hair and slightly tanned skin, a dark skinned beauty with coloured tips in her hair, a pretty Polynesian girl with a snap back and a dark haired women with the greenest eyes I had ever seen. I kind of got lost in them for a second before clearing my throat, braking the spell she had put on me and turning to face my boss once more. As a group we spent the rest of the meeting being briefed on the girls sales, album requirements and their sound which was not new to me. Having a young daughter meant I knew who fifth harmony was. Laney loved their last single off of their debut album and it was all I heard for about a month. She had learnt the dance routine which was funny in itself as my tiny daughters limbs couldn't quite make the moments necessary. These girls were talented, I knew that.

The meeting was soon dismissed with small amount of polite chit chat between staff and clients. Making eye contact with their manager I singled that we should go to the studio now, he nodded and ushered the girls out of the boardroom with me. Me and the girls of Fifth Harmony went straight into the studio, them occupying the two couches available leaving me to pull up a desk chair nearby.

"So, Lets get to work."
