"Alex!!" My mom yelled from downstairs, "GET UP OR WE ARE LEAVING WITHOUT YOU!!"
"Oh thank god!" I yelled back with a hint of fictional relief.
"Get your lazy ass up now! Or I'm seriously going to come up other and drag you into the car while you are in your pajamas and you know damn well I'm not kidding!!!" I sighed in defeat and as if she could hear me she said 'good'
I will never understand my mother... Or parents in general. I got up and dragged myself to the bathroom taking a shower and applying some concealer and foundation.
I left the bathroom and wore a pair blue knee ripped jeans, white shirt, with my dad's silver army necklace, tied my red and blue flannel around my waist and a leather jacket.
I wore my black vans, kissed my father's necklace, grabbed my duffle bag, slung over my right shoulder and opened the door looking back at my bed that I wasn't going to see for a while.
My brother Adrian and I were going to my uncles/family's camp for the summer to try and make a bunch of high school students become more 'socially acceptable.' Which basically they were a bunch of trouble makers or how my uncle referred to them 'delinquents.'
Marcus Woods was an odd guy, different to the rest of our family. I don't know how, there was something about him like he's the most trustworthy and wise man you'll ever meet but at the same time you're afraid to get close to. Which was the most interesting thing about him.
Camp Woods was a family thing a place that was built by my great-great-great-grandfather, well according to a story at least.
According to the stories my dad used to tell us, it was a place where the entire family gathered with family friends and when they brought their kids to play, have fun, camp, etc.
The kids had so much fun building fires' telling scary stories having s'mores, hot dogs, going hiking, swimming, fishing and in the end he decided he would make it a place where everyone's kids were allowed to come, have fun and learn new things while he made money.
And here was another generation going to Camp Woods to help a bunch of teenagers that didn't want to be there have... Fun & be 'Productive.'
As I walked into the kitchen Adrian was already sat on a stool and watching our mother make breakfast looking at the pan hungrily waiting for his breakfast.
I dropped my duffle bag on the ground as grabbing a stool and sat on it.
What seemed like seconds later, our food was being served by our mother, I sent her a thankful look, shoving my pancakes remembering that I wouldn't taste her cooking for the next two months.
About an hour after breakfast, we heard a car pulled into our driveway and assuming it was Uncle Marcus we all thought up and open the door.
A minute after say our goodbyes to our mother while getting into his black Jeep, which wasn't rare scenery since we lived in Austin, Texas.
Minutes after having a decent conversation with uncle Marcus, him and Adrian started talking politics which I fully understood and found interesting but I wasn't in the mood to argue about what was right and what was wrong so I plugged my earphones into my ears and started playing my music on shuffle closing my eyes.
'This was going to be a long ride that' I thought to myself sighing. A while later I was woken up by a jolt. I realized my music was off and tried to look around but the sudden light momentarily blinded me as I heard the car door open.
"My oh my, there are stars in my eyes..." Said a voice with a pure southern accent while I tried to focus my eyes.
"Leave her alone can't you see can't even see properly because of the sun you fool!" A purely American voice said, Nevada if I was right.
