The loud chatter of students making their way to lunch is quite entertaining. How they rush and bump to each other and glare as they pass by. It doesn't bother me much anymore. My old school was just like this, very overwhelming but I managed quite well.
"Honesty , wanna walk with me to lunch?" Avril asks. Linking her arm through mines.
Since she already dragged me half the way there.It wouldn't hurt to say yes. Considering I haven't really made friends throughout class. Mostly everyone's giving me stares . I ignore some of them but its kinda annoying me.
"Sure"
As we walked in. All the chatter seems to cease and the stares has made an appearance. Ugh, can a new girl get a break? I mean jeez , literally this is my first day.
"Avril can I ask you something?"I ask.
"Of course," she says
When we stopped to get in line. Even the people in line stopped to turn around to stare. I move sideways so Avril is blocking the sight of me.
"Uh, why is everyone staring at me? If you don't mind me asking?" I ask. Ignorance slipping in my voice.
She looks at me then burst out laughing again the second time today. Maybe somethings wrong with her. As I was about to ask a deep voice startled me from behind.
Oh joy , It's Xavier.
I turn to snap at him when a smirk appear on his gorgeous face.
"Im here to collect you since I did mention to you that you would be sitting with me in the hall, remember? He says.
"I would, but I'm sitting with Avril right?" I ask.
I turn to a wide eye Avril. Hmm, I'm guessing I'm not the only one affected by his appearance.
"Earth to Avril," I wave in front of her face to get her attention.
She seems to snap back to reality as I nudge her.
"Ye-yeah t-that's right,"Avril stutters.
I stifle a laugh and cover it up as a cough. But she caught on and glared at me. I turn to an amused Xavier.
"Well as you have notice I already have company." I voiced out my victory.
He smirks. "Well do you both want to sit at our table?"
A sharp intake to my right suggests he has won over Avril. Well it couldn't be that bad could it? I just dislike popularity groups and how they brag and bully others. I was kinda hoping I wouldn't get involve with them, but it seems I'm sitting at their table.
He guides me to his table as the people around seems to notice our presence. Goody. I thought.
They stopped eating and stare at me and Avril. Probably thinking why the new girl and the quiet girl are standing at our table. I smirk , and sit at the far end to avoid any human contact or conversation.
But it seems luck is not on my side today. As Xavier smile and sits to my right. They stare and turn to gawk at him as I merely frown.
The shaggy haired boy to my left finally speaks up. "Xavier, aren't you going to introduce us?" he similes as he asks this.
The frown deepens on my face as I look to see Avril reactions. To my surprise she blushes and ducks her head.
Before Xavier can respond I beat him to it.
"I'm Honesty, nice to meet you," I say as sweetly as I can. To avoid what I really wanna say.
The girl sitting beside the shaggy hair boy glared at me as I meet everyone eyes. I narrow my eyes at her as to challenge her. But she gave me one last glare before she continued eating.
Xavier nudges me and I look up to meet his eyes.
"Can I escort you to your next class Honesty?" he asks. His voice so deep. Oh and the way his tongue dances my name around has me dizzy. Jeez, I need to snap out of it. There's a reason why I'm avoiding him and his gang.
Just as I was about to answer, when the bell rings ending our lunch. I quickly dunk my tray and exit through double doors. Before Xavier can even realize I left.
I can't get close . He'll only break your heart. Don't let him get close. I chanted these words to myself as I make my way to my next class.
