"And that, that scares the crap out of you."
Jackson's last sentence hangs in the air for a minutes as I wish he could somehow take
them back. But he can't and by the look on his face, I can tell he isn't willing to. My eyes
meet his for a couple seconds before I rush away from him. Now I have no choice but to
marry Matthew, but how? It seems like every single man in the planet hates me right now.
After a few minutes, I finally find him near the nurse's station and drag him to a nearby
chapel. "I don't have time for this." he mumbles as I drag him on the stage. "Just hold on." I
say. He is silent until we reach the stage and I slowly begin to explain everything to him.
"I'm not good at this," I say. "This is all new to me. Ok, I was never the girl that got asked to
the dance. I'm not good at it. And I'm indecisive because I see eight sides to everything and
that's what you're picking when you pick me." Confidence now overflows through my body
so I continue talking. "And you may not want that. I thought maybe nobody would ever want
that." Matthew is fixing to walk away and I'm ready to accept defeat with both of my boys
when he picks me up and spins me around.
