I'm laying in bed, when I hear a knock on the door. I open my eyes and see that it is only 2:45am. I swing my legs off the bed and feel Peeta sit up. "I got it" he says,"Go back to sleep."
"Are you sure" I ask
"Yes" he says standing up and walking out the door. He disappears into the hall way and i lay back down and fall asleep.
My eyes flutter open when i hear some familular voice calling my name. "Katniss!!" It said"Katniss!!" I jolt up and see Peeta in the door way running to me. His face is all bloody. "What happend" I asked in a frantic vioce.
"He got them Katniss" He says "He got them!"
"Who got who?" I asked
"Gale" He growled. "He took Melody and Patrick"
"What?!" I screamed. "How"I saw a tear go down Peeta's cheek. i leaned to kiss his cheek, but he jolted up. i put my hand on his sholder and he turns twords me, he sat on the bed abd began to speek.
" The bell rang,I answered it, I said hello and Gale just rushed into the house yelling at me! I told him to be quiet, but he wouldn't. I heard Melody coming down the stairs, she asked what was going on. Gale looked at me with great frustration. I tried to tell Melody to go get her brother and stay together but Gale took her arm and bent it. she wailed in pain! Then Patrick came down and tried to protect his sister but Gale j- j- just kneed him in the temple. He was knocked out cold! I ran to him but Gale took out a knife and put it to my face and cut me." He had tears soaking his face. " I- I - I woke up and they were gone!" He was finished.
"well what are we going to do" I asked
"Let's go find them" He said whipping his tears.
"Okay" I said standing up to get on my fathers old coat. I put it on, i walk down stairs, and then grab my bow
"You ready" I ask Peeta.
"Yeah" He says.
We walk out side and go to the Hawthornes quiet home. I knock on the door and Poppy answers."Hey Katniss" She says hugging me
"Hello" I say " Where is Gale?"
"He went to the wood early this morning" She answered "Why"
"Oh nothing" I said "Thanks" I walked down the road with Peeta.
"We'll find them" He reminds me.
We get to the fence, we both then go through the small hole in the bottom. We walked on the old trail that Gale and I used to walk on. We pass many old places where we thought Gale would be, like where we had our fist kiss, where we first met, and even the day i was reaped. We had no luck so far.
"Where else" Peeta asked.
"I don't know" I answered. I thought for a minuted and remembered the old hut in the woods! " oh my gosh Peeta, I know where they are"
Before he could answer I was running off the trail twords the hut. We passed the lake and another trail, but we finally got there. I stopped dead in my tracks, Peeta was about 20 Feet behind me. He finally caught up and stared at the hut with me. I don't hesitate, i run through the door. I see both of my children on the ground, beaten and crying. I run to them, Peeta follows.
"Oh my gosh" I say hugging them tightly."Are you okay"
"Mommy! Daddy!" They cried.
"The man said that he wanted to hurt us" Patrick said.
"What man" I ask.
"That man" Meldody said pointing to some thing. Peeta and I turn around, it was...
