     All I could think about was getting away from the ERL.
     I was running. Running as fast as I could. If THEY caught me they would take me back. Back to the ERL. I can never go back. Not now. Not ever.
The throbbing in my wing was getting worse by the second. My left wing hung limp on my shoulder. The blood dripping down my back. I'm not going to be able to keep running much longer. Even if I out run them I will eventually find myself at a dead end.
As I come to a clearing, as I expected, I found myself facing a dead end. Or rather a cliff. But I can't fly if my wings can't carry me. As I stood there trying to think of what to do next, as if on cue, the Night Screamers came into view. I turned to face them. That's when I decide. I would rather die then go back to that hell hole.
     As they closed in around me I took one last look at the sky I would never be able to soar in and I closed my eyes. I took a deep breath, it smelled like freshly fallen pine needles and grass dew, and I leaned back ever so slightly... And I was falling to my death.
     Just when I thought the end was finally coming I felt something grab ahold of me. I opened my eyes to see one of those filthy Night Screamers clinging to me like it could keep me from falling further. I was fighting to be free from it's clutches when I looked down and realized, it doesn't matter if I put up a fight. The end has come.

     I awoke with a jerk, sweating and gasping for air. It was just a dream. But now I understand.

I have to escape...

Before they catch me...

Before they know I'm gone.

     Hello Wattpadians! ( Wttpadians is not a real thing but get used to it ). This is my first story, well, my sister thought of the storyline, but I'm super excited to write this story!
