They were happy, nothing could tear them apart. Few arguments but made up in the end anyway. 3 years they have been dating and those three years have been nothing but comfortable and perfect.
Everything was perfect however...until one day, she went out with a few friends, one drink, 2 drinks, 3 drinks, it was down the drain. She cheated on him shattering his heart. He didn't know what to think, she didn't even tell him, his friend did. He rushed out of the apartment and stumbled into the street holding his knees.
She came running out after him, begging forgiveness, begging for another chance.
"I trusted you!" He yelled at her. "We had so much! I love you!" Tears streamed down both of their faces.
"Babe, please. I screwed up! I know that, my drunk self was no excuse, I won't do it again! I swear it! Please!" She sobbed. He pulled the ring out of his pocket and threw it into the grass across the street.
"I wanted you to be mine forever, get a house together and settle down with a child. I could see it whenever you were there, every time I saw you, I wanted that so bad! With you! But you went and-" He stopped and turned away.
"Please, let me try again" She tried to make him stay.
It didn't work.
He moved out of the apartment that night, living with his friend for a while before getting his own apartment. That night replayed in his head ever since. His heart never healed and he couldn't see happiness.
She turned to alcohol, she seemed okay when she was drunk but at night, she sat by the toilet in the bathroom, sick from the alcohol, holding herself while sobs echoed across the empty apartment of memories. The alcohol didn't heal anything, it made her miss him more than anything. She wanted to fix everything, go back in time and fix it all so this never happened.
A few months went by and he became a YouTuber to distract himself from the silence, he did v-logs and played video games at request, growing up to 10,000 subs. He wanted to say he was okay but deep down he wished he forgave her and gave it another chance. Hid the ring for a while and tried it again. He's started v-logs over because his fake happiness wasn't convincing enough. He gained weight and ended up with diabetes and heart disease, his health on the line.
She lost her job and became a waitress, a house cleaner and a babysitter. With three jobs she was exhausted, and had no time to herself except on Saturdays. She didn't want to go back to college because she was running out of money from all the beer she wasted it on. She lost too much weight and became bulimic. She wanted to go find him and drop to her knees sobbing, hoping he'd take her back but she couldn't bear to face him. She wanted to leave this world.
A year passes and they still missed each other horribly. He goes to a restaurant with a few friends one night, that night was the night she was working, but she was not their waitress. She passed by once and she stopped, dropping the tray of glasses she was holding. He turned her way and his face fell, his heart sped up and he jumped up bumping the table and knocking his chair over. Now almost 250 pounds, he felt embarrassed looking at her. She looked amazing as usual, but her tired expression said otherwise.
She didn't move, she sucked her stomach in feeling horrible about how she looked. Her tired expression, her bony arms. She wanted to cry, seeing him the way he was. She heard from a friend he gained diabetes and heart disease but didn't know how bad it was. Her boss soon walked over and started yelling at her, she begged for one chance, which he granted.
Something I should have given her. He thought to himself.
She glanced at him once more before walking back to the kitchen to get replacement drinks.
He watched her walk away, without realizing his blood sugar rose. A sharp pain started in his chest, he clutched his heart and groaned out in pain, dropping to the floor unconscious. She turned at the screams and screamed too. She ran over throwing off her apron.
His friends were calling for an ambulance while someone gave him CPR. She pushed through the crowd and dropped to her knees by him sobbing her eyes out. He opened his eyes finally and looked at her taking a breath in. She clutched his ice cold hand. A smile spread over his lips before closing his eyes again.
She waited all night at the hospital, before finally being allowed in. They told her he was dying, not meant to survive the night. Crying, she walked to his bed, his friends around him crying. She took his hand one last time. He opened his mouth to speak.
"I should have given you one last chance." He whispered.
"I never stopped loving you." She hiccuped. He smiled one last time before closing his eyes, for the last time, his final breath escaping his lips.
3 months followed and she died from grief and bulimia.
In the end, they were meant for each other.
